ER Manager - 18 month FTC.
Location: Edinburgh or Bristol (Hybrid)

Working with other members of the ER function you will take the lead on Global and Local People Policy development in line with strategic goals, ensuring all our global policies are legally compliant. As an Employee Relations Manager within the Global team, you will be pivotal in keeping up to date of future legal changes impacting policies within UK, Ireland and Jersey as well as understanding market best practice; alongside providing SME support to the case management team on complex, high risk cases as and when required.

A role you will love

As an Employee Relations Manager within the global people team you will address all aspects of the employee lifecycle including disciplinary actions, grievances, absences, maternity/paternity issues, restructures, while supporting the business with performance management. As a trusted SME you will also be responsible for handling more complex and high-risk cases while keeping our global policies up to date.

Other Key Responsibilities

  • Provide managers with support on employee concerns to ensure matters are resolved quickly and effectively and in compliance with the relevant CPU policies.
  • Ensure cases are escalated to the relevant teams in line with agreed escalation matrices.
  • Maintain integrity of records and documentation required for employee relations issues.
  • Partner with legal department and external advisors to solve complex ER issues while keeping up to date of changing legal landscape to ensure these are effectively implemented into company policies and procedures.
  • Identify themes and trends to provide training and upskill our managers across the business.
  • Produce and analyse ER related data to identify solutions as necessary and contribute to related projects as an ER SME.
  • Ensure delivery of specialist advice and coaching to managers when implementing Employee Relations processes and policies.
  • Provide advice and input into wider People policies, including where there is local variance.
  • Take a leading role within the ER team in building relationships with relevant employee representatives.

What will you bring to the role?

We'd expect you to have a strong working knowledge of People policies and practices, employment law, and regulatory impacts with prior experience operating across multiple counties we operate in including the UK.

To be successful you will be a subject matter expert with the ability to impart your knowledge while also growing your skillset within a complex global organisation.

What else are we looking for?

  • Significant ER case management / litigation experience within UK, Ireland and Jersey.
  • Significant experience of writing and reviewing employee policies
  • Experience working within a changing commercial environment.
  • Project Management experience would be highly beneficial.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate information clearly and concisely both verbally and in written format.
  • Strong ethics and values, identifies with and strongly aligns to our culture.
  • Successfully establish strong trust-based relationships across all levels through strong presence, gravitas, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work within remote teams and work collaboratively within a global environment.
  • Experience working within a complex global organisation, preferably Financial/professional Services.
  • Experienced at working to tight deadlines and meeting or exceeding SLA's.
  • Highly organised with a methodical approach and an eye for detail
