Corporate Events Specialist

Location: Johannesburg - Hybrid

A fantastic opportunity for a Corporate Events Specialist has now become available within Computershare Asset Services is the division responsible for the day-to-day activities of all corporate action events (Start to finish) and to ensure that events are processed accurately and within the set deadlines.

A role you will love

The Corporate Events Specialist will work closely with Corporate Events Quality Assurance Officer and relevant internal stakeholders to ensure all activity related to the event is actioned and reviewed in order to meet strict deadlines and service delivery levels.

In addition, the role holder will also support the following:

  • Corporate Actions Event Specification for internal circulation.
  • Prepare Issuer Sponsored Nominee (ISN) letters for shareholders in our CSDP.
  • Ensure all printing and mailing is done timeously, within the set deadlines.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that SENS is received and SWIFT message within 2 hours of release is received from Strate. Check SENS and swift and read circular if available (ensure that the draft and final are read as it could have changed and all-important pertinent information is communicated on Spec)
  • Ensure that all spec/ISIN/election FOE and statements is prepared, authorized and sent timeously to the various stakeholders for processing - within 48 hours of swift is received
  • Ensure that all fee estimations and file is ready for first sign off with all the relevant dividers therein. Reduce the number of documents returned due to incompleteness or errors
  • Perusing draft circulars and giving input and understanding the corporate event. Final circular in file and on W drive (Word and PDF formats)
  • Printing numbers is obtained and communication with the printer and requests are sent timeously - 5 days before posting of circular. Reduce the number of documents returned due to incompleteness or errors
  • Ensure that all consent letters is ready for first sign off with all the relevant dividers therein. Reduce the number of documents returned due to incompleteness or errors
  • Processing of all elections received and execution of the events from start to finish of the project/event

What will you bring to the role?

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
  • Degree or Diploma Advantageous
  • Corporate Actions knowledge and experience
  • Knowledge of Registry Systems
  • Degree will be an advantage
  • Strate examination certificate
  • Knowledge of Strate, JSE listing requirements, Companies Act and the FMA in respect of corporate events

Technical Skills

  • Computer literacy
  • MS Word
  • MS Excel
  • MS Outlook
  • Scrip knowledge (an advantage)
  • Fortress knowledge (an advantage)
