Senior Director, Marketing Network Operations & Capabilities, Africa

We are looking for change agents that are ambitious and have a balance of creativity and business acumen, hence able to transform Marketing by bridging the future and the present, flexibility and discipline, processes and iteration, global and regional.

What You will Do:

  • Leads the Africa Operating Unit Marketing operations and the implementation of the Africa Operating Unit Marketing capability agenda, while connecting and integrating it to the global marketing operations & capability network.
  • Owns and drives the Africa Marketing PMO activities, comprising Innovation projects and Integrated Marketing Experience campaigns, including the stewardship of ways of working (e.g. agile), key processes and routines (e.g. Innovation Council), tools and best practices to deliver the Africa operating marketing agenda.
  • Supports the optimized allocation and tracking of resources (People & Direct Marketing Expenses) across Marketing projects, including Integrated Marketing Experience campaigns and Innovation, in coordination with all Marketing sub-functions.
  • Leads Agency operations, including agency engagement and assessment, in line with the global guidelines that will support the future modern marketing organization.
  • Supports, as part of the global Marketing Operations and Capabilities network, the creation of a compelling vision and strategic agenda for Coca-Cola Marketing capabilities, in anticipation of the future. This includes defining the Africa agenda, resources and calendars to advance Coca-Cola knowledge, skills & competencies, experiences and learning culture, leveraging external best practices and in partnership with HR.
  • Leads the Africa experimentation agenda, including the Global Experimentation Platform at Africa level, recommending and coordinating experiments with other marketing sub-functions. This includes sharing learnings and lifting & shifting success cases to foster networked experimentation, accelerated non-duplicative learning and development of marketing capabilities.
  • Drives, in collaboration with HR and PAC, integrated internal engagement and communication strategy and plans for the Africa marketing team, executed through a curated, narrative-driven communications calendar, leveraging digital platforms and core Marketing routines.
  • Coordinates the Marketing Platform Services transition at Africa level, partnering with the Marketing Platform Services leader on and supports the related change management requirements (including ensuring Service level agreements are being achieved and helping identify and solve key pain points and structural issues).
  • Africa Marketing Network Operations and Capabilities Lead will carry out duties through her/his team (including situational coaching and talent development) and individually; and interacting regularly with the global Marketing Network Operations and Capabilities Lead, with Africa Marketing Lead and broader Africa marketing team.

Role Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10-12 years of senior leadership experience including Marketing, Innovation, Capability Management, Project Management
  • Experience working in cross-functional and cross-geographical teams is preferred
  • Experience working with marketing in the field in the FMCG sectors is preferred
  • Ability to orchestrate multiple stakeholders, delivering the highest priority and enterprise wide scale bets, in a seamless fashion across platforms, systems, processes, routines etc.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and bring together multiple concepts across functions to define the strategic direction for the business.
  • Ability to mobilize and champion change management across the region and teams.
  • Ability to develop, curate and deliver integrated strategy & communication, cognizant of key stakeholders.

Communication Focus

  • The role communicates internally across Africa Marketing (and eventually including Key Bottlers), the global Marketing community (Global team + 8 Operating Units), and Africa HR and PAC.
  • The role influences and aligns senior leaders across Africa, to adopt, support and implement the elements outlined in the scope of the role. The role also negotiates with senior leaders at Africa level to invest in many of the elements outlined in the scope of the role our people, especially where opposing interests relative to local plans exist.
  • The role is also responsible for influencing and sharing information and practices across the global Marketing community.
