As the key advocate for the Scientific and Regulatory Affairs area, your role would involve implementing globally aligned advocacy strategies to minimize risks and confront challenges potentially affecting our ingredients, products, packaging, claims, etc.
Scope:
Identify potential regulatory risks and opportunities and ensure tracking of local, regional and global regulatory issues and emerging trends that impact the reputation of our ingredients, products, packaging, brands, etc.

Implement globally aligned regulatory advocacy strategies to mitigate current risks and future headwinds that may impact our ingredients, products, packaging, claims, labeling, communication, marketing, etc.
Build, maintain, enhance and develop relationships/networks with external experts, government agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders on issues relating to food regulations, food safety, nutrition and health, etc. to advance TCCC strategy, growth agenda and positions.
Lead and engage in industry/trade associations and food standards bodies so as to advocate industry/company positions to protect our business and enable growth.
Provide regulatory affairs expertise and guidance to the system to identify solutions to regulatory issues that affect our products, ingredients, nutrition regulations or labeling
Establish regulatory strategies to gain government approvals and international standards (e.g., Codex) for new ingredients, products, labeling, or packaging to support innovation collaborating with internal and external stakeholders such as the global SRA team, R&D, Legal, PACS and trade associations.
Qualifications & Requirements
7-10 Years in food industry.
Demonstrated advocacy experience and leadership roles in related external organizations/committees/boards.
English and Spanish are required;
Functional Skills & Technical Competencies:
Regulatory Landscape: Knowledge of the regulatory and political landscape affecting food and beverages in Latin America. It also includes the ability to manage complex regulatory issues affecting products, ingredients, packages or claims.
Compliance: knowledge of related compliance type process related to ingredients, products, packaging, claims and communication.
Food Safety/Toxicology: Basic understanding of the nature, properties, effects, and detection of toxic substances in food, and their disease manifestation particularly chemicals of food interest such as food additives and pesticides, and how they are tested and regulated.
Nutrition Science: Understanding of nutrition science including how dietary patterns influence health and well-being, biological mechanisms through which nutrients affect metabolism, dietary patterns, activity levels and related medical conditions particularly obesity and NCDs.
Skills:
Building Value Based Relationships: Ability to generate alliances internally and externally by continuously identifying and acting on those things that will create success for the Company and its customers, bottlers, suppliers and communities.
Drives cross-discipline collaboration and teamwork: Applies understanding of scientific & regulatory processes, including internal and external relationships to advance the achievement of company's and technical organization's priorities. Demonstrated ability to establish and nurture productive cross-functional and internal and external stakeholder collaborations.
Communication Focus: Proactively inform the operating unit about scientific and regulatory emerging issues to increase their understanding of issues and formulate plan of action.
