Position Summary and Key Responsibilities:

A position as an Assistant Professor is currently available in the Department of Immunology and Theranostics, in the Art Riggs Diabetes and Metabolism Research Institute, City of Hope. Applicants should have a PhD in biochemistry, immunology, cell biology, biophysics or related field and relevant postdoctoral research experience and publications. The candidate is expected to develop and lead an independent research program in molecular imaging and molecularly targeted therapy in cancer, immunology and/or diabetes.

A competitive start-up package, including faculty salary and research support will be provided and the institution provides a collaborative environment with access to state-of-the-art core facilities. Specialized resources to support the candidate's research program included a Small Animal Imaging Core, fully staffed and equipped with a 7T MRI/PET, PET/CT, optical imaging instrumentation, and upcoming acquisition of a Magnetic Particle imager. An overall goal of the Department is clinical translation of novel agents and approaches, supported by a state-licensed clinical radiopharmacy and cGMP manufacturing facilities capable of producing biologicals, peptides, and small molecules for clinical use. The Center for Theranostics Studies oversees and supports translation and early clinical studies of investigational radiopharmaceuticals.

Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
  • PhD or MD-PhD in biochemistry, immunology, cell biology, biophysics, or related field, and at least 3 years of relevant postdoctoral experience with publications.
  • Ability to communicated effectively in spoken and written English.
