About the role

We're seeking a Manager to join the Finance Business Partnership function at Chime! In this role, you will own the expense forecasts across the business for Risk, Member Experience, and R&D functions. As a manager, you will be leading a team of 4 analysts. You have both strong attention to detail and the ability to consider the big picture to drive strategic and investment recommendations. You are highly analytical and a clear, confident communicator. You have a bias towards action, exceptional partnership and communication skills, and know-how to balance getting the details right while still moving fast.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $146,610 and up to $207,700. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to
  • Work closely with senior executives across member experience, transaction losses, and R&D teams to provide data-driven insights and influence strategy with strong business partnerships and monthly business reviews
  • Provide trusted financial advice on strategic and long range planning, new initiatives, and day-to-day operations. Enable execution of business priorities while maintaining financial goals
  • Deliver ongoing financial planning, forecast and analysis. Proactively highlight risk & opportunities and drive business actions
  • Facilitate and empower decision-making through effective financial modeling and story-telling.
  • Plan and evaluate teams' operational and financial performance against company goals to hold teams accountable with a high degree of predictability. Hold teams accountable to budgets, forecast accuracy, optimize investments, and identify opportunities for efficiencies
  • Work with the Product Finance team to evaluate investment opportunities, sizing relative impact, and driving unit economics metrics
  • Variable Expenses (Member experience & Transaction Losses): Partner with Member support and Risk leadership teams to identify opportunities and manage third party operations and risk losses
  • Engineering/Infrastructure/Product: Work with engineering leadership on managing infrastructure, hosting, software, headcount and department budgets. Develop a R&D portfolio analysis framework to support investment decisions, including review of investment distribution, ROI, and external benchmarking

To thrive in this role, you have
  • Minimum 6 years of finance/FP&A, investment banking, business intelligence, or consulting experience. 3+ years experience at a high-growth pre-IPO startup, public company, and/or FinTech experience a strong plus
  • 1-2 years managing at least one other direct report; prior experience building a team a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership of a high functioning FP&A organization and track record of driving strong financial performance
  • Experience evolving processes, controls and systems to support a high-growth company
  • Expertise in Excel - you can build scalable, efficient, and intuitive models with ease; Experience with Adaptive/Pigment, Netsuite, Workday, Looker, SQL a plus
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with key stakeholders, cross-functional partners and senior leadership
  • Eagerness to dig into the details, contribute as a team player that embraces change and thrives in a fast-paced environment
