Role Overview:
As an Associate Director, UX Research, you'll own research vision that crafts Chewy's next-generation products and services. You’ll work closely with product management, design, and engineering to ensure outstanding user experiences. This high-profile role offers the opportunity to innovate, drive strategy, and lead a dynamic research team to elevate the customer experience.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead Strategic Research: Guide cross-functional teams to craft customer-centric experiences at the intersection of research, design, content, and technology.
  • Drive Innovation: Influence key product investments and strategies that deliver long-term value for customers.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and develop a growing team of UX researchers, encouraging a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Standardize Research Practices: Champion consistency and cohesion in UX research across Chewy’s products and services.
  • Build Talent: Recruit, develop, and retain UX research professionals while maintaining high quality standards.

What You’ll Need:

  • Experience: 8+ years in UX Research with 3+ years of leadership experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Leadership: Leading and developing teams across multiple products, with a track record of motivating talent and delivering results.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to set direction and build repeatable, balanced processes for long-term success.
  • Research Expertise: Strong understanding of UX research methodologies, User-Centered Design, and both qualitative/quantitative research.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with teams with varied strengths, influencing key decisions, and delivering on business goals.
  • Communication: Excellent presentation and social skills, with the ability to distill sophisticated research into actionable insights.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in research, HCI, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Travel: Occasional travel required.

Hub Locations & Work Arrangement:

  • Hub Locations: Bellevue, WA or Boston, MA 
  • Hybrid Model: 2+ days in hub location per week
  • Remote: This role is NOT a remote role.

 

 

The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant.

Salaried-exempt team members have unlimited PTO, subject to manager approval. Team members will receive six paid holidays per year. Team members may be eligible for paid sick and family leave in compliance with applicable state and local regulations.

Pay Range
$156,000$255,000 USD
