Schwab's Wealth & Advice Solutions (WAS) organization offers industry-leading wealth management experiences, through solutions like Schwab Wealth Advisory (SWA) and Schwab Advisor Network (SAN), along with a broad range of investment products and solutions, to both retail and registered investment advisor (RIA) clients.

Within WAS, the Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives and Client Experience will be a part of the Investment Offers & Solutions (IOS) group's Mutual Fund, ETF, 529, and Fixed Income Offer Management team. IOS is responsible for managing Schwab's proprietary separately managed account offers as well as third-party product marketplaces, including mutual funds, ETFs, alternative investments, managed accounts, structured products, fixed income, annuities, insurance, and the Schwab 529 Plan. Our mission is to provide a positive experience for Schwab clients that invest in these products, while growing a key revenue stream for Schwab.

The Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives and Client Experience will be responsible for leading and supporting strategy projects for mutual fund, ETF, 529, and fixed income offers by conducting clear and consistent fact-based analysis to inform key business decision. The role will collaborate closely with partners across Schwab, including Retail, Advisor Services, Legal, Compliance, Sales, and Service teams, to align on recommendations that address changing industry trends, improve client experience, and enable Schwab to pursue growth opportunities.

The Senior Manager, Strategic Initiatives and Client Experience will help shape plans for new initiatives and manage several high priority strategy projects simultaneously. Those responsibilities entail:

  • Defining and framing end-to-end strategy for key mutual fund, ETF, 529, and fixed income initiatives by performing in-depth research, designing and analyzing options, and synthesizing complex information.
  • Addressing strategic questions and hypotheses through research and data to fully assess opportunity.
  • Developing compelling presentations to support the strategy process and governance activities, deliver recommendations, and influence audiences at various levels across Schwab, including leadership in WAS and partner organizations.
  • Planning and managing execution of work streams for large, complex projects as well as taking full ownership of key projects.
  • Establishing and maintaining roadmaps to drive forward strategic initiatives across the offer management team.
  • Monitoring business key metrics and industry trends to proactively surface potential opportunities and challenges to address.

What you have

Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of business strategy experience, preferably in consulting or internal strategy group, and a minimum of 5+ years of total work experience.
  • High financial services acumen. Understanding of wealth management market and investment products (e.g., mutual funds, ETFs, fixed income).
  • Strong project management experience with cross-functional project management and relationship building skills; can work in both a strategic and executional capacity.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in financial services, including experience with wealth or asset management.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information and form a point of view.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills and executive presence; able to influence and create alignment across an organization.
  • Ability to craft high-quality presentations to synthesize information and support a vision and recommendation.
  • Highly resourceful, adaptable, and creative problem solver, who can thrive in a dynamic environment, solve issues with urgency as they arise, and drive progress in ambiguous situations.
  • Proficiency with prioritizing effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess a positive attitude, enthusiasm, professionalism, and strong work ethic with high level of integrity and ethics.

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
