The Legal Operations practice area in the Legal Services department is responsible for creating processes and practices to improve the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the legal team, facilitate change, and control costs.

We are looking for a Senior Legal Project Manager, this is an individual contributor position responsible for leading projects and processes to support efforts in multiple areas, including (but not limited to) technology, matter management and billing, document management, planning and reporting, knowledge management, vendor management, and training/development.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the management and optimization of our legal technology stack
  • Execution of department-wide operational initiatives, such as technology enhancements, process improvements, and metrics development
  • Lead maintenance and updates of existing legal solutions and platforms
  • Contract Owner and administrator for various legal technology contracts (L4 risk rated), including Matter Management applications, Document Management applications, and other legal applications.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance legal service delivery
  • Assist with bringing new legal technology through security, technology, and model review/approval workflows
  • Assist with developing implementation strategies for new technologies
  • Assist with training attorneys on applications and developing resources for quick reference
  • Collaborate with technology partners, and legal teams on legal technology initiatives
  • Assist with establishing metrics and KPIs to track progress success
  • Data analysis in Business Objects, Excel, Tableau, and SQL
  • Data Governance of Legal Service's Critical Data Elements
  • Design and manage department SharePoint sites, including embedded forms and Power Automate workflows
  • Build and foster strong relationships and lines of communication with lawyers, support staff, and business partners
  • Troubleshoot reported issues; problem solve; and take actions to close gaps and meet new requirements

What you have

To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have:

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of managing complex projects within or alongside legal environments, including law firms, risk & compliance departments, regulatory teams, or similar. Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale initiatives in professional settings
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (computer science, Information Systems, Legal Studies, Business Administration, or other) or equivalent work experience
  • Strong understanding of legal workflows and processes
  • Knowledge of technology and legal platforms/applications including those used at the firm and in the legal services and legal operations industry
  • Extensive experience as a user/administrator/business owner with legal technology platforms - matter management and electronic billing, document management, knowledge management (eCounsel or Legal Tracker, iManage, and Collaborati required)
  • Proven track record of successful project management
  • Experience evaluating and implementing new technologies
  • Experience developing operational, planning and custom reports and presentations - proficient in PowerPoint and Excel; Business Objects experience required
  • Ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences

  • Agile and flexible thinker who can remain focused and execute in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong understanding of the legal matter management cycle
  • Ability to facilitate cross-departmental collaboration throughout the company by fostering effective communication, building strong relationships, and possessing a comprehensive understanding of the business
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite of products
  • Confident communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to present ideas and engage in conversations with technical colleagues as well as attorneys
  • Strong data analysis and presentation skills

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
