Events are one of the most important channels by which Schwab expresses its value to clients, and the Senior Event Manager will have the opportunity to be part of the team responsible for creating an exceptional experience for our clients.
The Event & Production Services team creates and executes events that embody Schwab's corporate brand and support Schwab client relationships. Through strong partnerships within Schwab, with our clients and the RIA industry, we create and execute industry-leading events that build awareness, confidence, and trust in Schwab's brand and strategic objectives.

The Sr Event Manager is an essential role to the execution of our high impact programs which are extensive. You will design the overall program experience. You will play a key role in managing and running point on all logistics, planning and onsite execution of the events.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving and implementing strategies for engaging with our most affluent clients through events and industry conferences, ranging from 25 - 6,000 attendees.
- Leading cross functional teams and collaborating with many different business partners across the organizations, event agenda development, marketing, production, logistics and website.
- Creating top-echelon experiential, modern, and distinct live and virtual event experiences that serve to position Schwab as the Industry Leader for small scale events to IMPACT, Schwab's largest Advisor Services industry conference.
- A commitment to improving the end-to-end client experience, ensuring that all attendee touch points across the entire event life cycle are delivered with the highest level of quality and consistency "through client eyes".
- Creating and managing detailed event budgets $12M++, allocating funds across various aspects of the event, and monitoring expenses to maintain financial viability.
- Leading a large team, multiple Schwab partners and industry vendors, budgets, timelines, ensuring high quality performance, resolving any issues and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Hotel, conference and specialty venue selection and ability to negotiate multiple contracts.
- Working with all levels of management and Executive Leadership Team.
- Drafting executive and employee briefings for all events.
- Pre-planning and communicating logistics, as well as performing on-site management.
What you have
To ensure that we fulfill our promise of "challenging the status quo," this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
- At least 8-10 years of experience in events and large conference planning and execution, with growing levels of responsibility and accountability.
- Experience planning and creating high touch, highly experiential events for clients, employees, and/or executives, ideally with previous corporate experience.
- A strong understanding of how to plan and orchestrate successful and engaging events with an eye for sophistication and finesse in event design.
- Solid contracting skills with venues, caterers, decor and lighting companies, DMCs, etc.
- Strong fiscal approach with excellent budget management and forecasting skills.
- Experience coordinating registration, complex housing management and air and ground travel arrangements
- Strong on-site execution experience and oversight of multiple vendors.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint for experiential decks and run of show planning purposes.
- Up to 40% travel required.

- Strategic in nature with strengths in holistically driving, influencing and effectively delivering on the established event strategy.
- An innovative and forward-thinking mind, with a keen eye for detail, and a focus on crafting unique and personalized event experiences.
- Ability to manage events of varying sizes and levels of complexity.
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity while course correcting based on evolving decisions and circumstances.
- Solid collaboration and long-term partnership skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communications skills.
