The Insights, Planning and Analytics team (IPA) is a centralized decision support group within the marketing organization focused on optimal marketing spend allocation, A/B testing, journey analytics, causal analytics and management reporting. Our mission is to serve our clients and cultivate their loyalty by understanding their needs and goals, we accomplish this by synthesizing data-driven insights into strategy recommendations for the marketing organization.

This role is an opportunity on the Digital and Client Marketing Analytics team. As an analyst on the team, you will act as an internal strategy consultant to our digital marketing partners supporting Schwab.com, understanding the challenges they face, the levers they have available and then forming data-driven recommendations to drive progress on KPI's.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding business partner challenges and levers of optimization.
  • Hypothesizing improvements in these levers, drawing conclusions based on journey analysis, A/B testing and causal inference.
  • Supporting development of tools, infrastructure and data capabilities to scale operations, increase efficiencies, and improve quality of results.

The ideal candidate will be strategically minded and able to use analytics to help answer key business questions. Have a strong drive to understand clients and create measurable impact. Be an outstanding communicator and have the self-confidence to work comfortably with senior levels within the organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Intermediate to advanced SQL knowledge.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing analytics or product analytics.
  • Must be able to translate business requirements into SQL 'from scratch' without the assistance of a code generating tool and able to understand existing complex SQL.
  • Intermediate knowledge of visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Experience in experimental design, conversion rate optimization and causal inference.
  • Ability to translate high level business questions into quantifiable analyses.
  • Exceptional story-telling skills - the ability to package and present these analyses effectively, communicating an insight to be understood easily and to drive action.
  • Experience presenting to an executive audience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing analytics or product analytics.
  • Experience in R, Python or SAS.
  • Experience with tag-based data.
  • Knowledge of the brokerage business, financial services, and/or Charles Schwab.
  • Self-starter that can thrive in a multifaceted and fast-paced work environment, with a positive attitude and solid work ethic.
  • Proven influential consultant with the ability to partner cross-functionally, cross-enterprise and work effectively with various levels and personality types within the organization.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a passion for uncovering insight in data.
  • A customer-centric approach.
  • Ability to lead concurrent projects at different stages of completion.
  • Strong curiosity to understand clients and improve overall business impact.
  • Comfort dealing with changing priorities and timelines.
  • Able to partner cross-functionally with data engineering, marketing and product partners.

*In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
