The Corporate FP&A team provides forecasting and decision support for business partners across the organization, including the CFO, Investor Relations, the Executive Council, and the Board of Directors. Within Corporate FP&A, the Revenue Planning team is responsible for forecasting revenues and earnings across the company, and performing various scenario analysis to help drive informed decisions. Since Schwab's revenue model is highly complex and dependent on several dynamic macroeconomic and client factors, the Revenue Planning team plays a crucial role in helping senior leadership understand our future financial outlook.

This position plays a significant role in providing senior management with consolidated client asset, interest rates, revenue, and EPS forecasts on a regular basis, handling forecasting models, preparing and presenting forecast results, and performing ad hoc analysis. This role serves as a great opportunity to better understand how Schwab makes money, gain exposure within Schwab with a potential for future career possibilities, and be part of a strong team.

What you have

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field.
  • 4+ years of career experience in Finance such as FP&A, Treasury, or Accounting.
  • An enthusiasm to continuously learn amidst changing business conditions.
  • Understanding of corporate finance theory, financial markets, and financial statement analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with an understanding of financial modeling standard methodologies.
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting principles and concepts, including balance sheet analysis.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Sound business judgement and ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Shown superior analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as a team to deliver results.
  • Knowledge of IBM TM1 or Planning Analytics or similar database/OLAP tool is preferred, but not required.

What you'll do:

  • Work with business partners and team members across Finance to forecast client asset balances, revenues, and earnings.
  • Lead the interest rate planning process for the firm's monthly forecasts and annual Financial Plan
  • Understand Schwab's business model and the different ways we earn revenue.
  • Initiate and deliver ad hoc analyses of key revenue trends, drivers and metrics to drive decisions.
  • Partner with Balance Sheet FP&A and Treasury to understand and challenge key inputs, assumptions, and outputs in the balance sheet forecast, including client deposits, bank lending, and margin balances.
  • Synthesize and communicate the consolidated financial picture and outlook, such as through Forecast Review meetings or Board materials.
  • Learn and continuously improve forecasting technology such as PlanIt
  • Prepare presentations that summarize key results and findings of the forecasts.
  • Support the CEO through the development and reporting of monthly financial results, including forecasts and annual Financial Plan
  • Enhance current modeling and forecasting capabilities, and reporting packages viewed by senior leaders of the firm.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis related to understanding macroeconomic, business, and client trends and their financial impact on the balance sheet and income statement

In addition to the salary range, this position is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
