Mainframe Changeman Automation Engineer

Salary: USD $61,000 - $96,200 / Year

Changeman automation, a mid-level engineer, will be responsible for maintaining, supporting and implementing changes to our mainframe systems using changeman software. Changeman automation engineer will work closely with mainframe developers to ensure smooth dept of code changes and collaborate with our operations teams to resolve production issues.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and implement changes to mainframe systems using Changeman
  • Develop, test, and deploy code changes to production
  • Collaborate with development teams to resolve defects and implement new features
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to Changeman
  • Develop and maintain documentation of Changeman processes and procedures
  • Participate in on-call rotation for production support
  • Provide training and support to team members and users on Changeman functionlity and best practices
  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies and best practices in mainframe development and Changeman

What you have

  • 3+ years of experience working with Changeman and mainframe systems
  • Strong understanding of mainframe architecture and operating systems (z/OS, z/VM, z/VSE)
  • Experience with COBOL, PL/1, and/or Assembler programming languages
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN)
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, UrbanCode)
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
  • Familiarity with IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL)

In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
