As a Mainframe Infrastructure System Administration professional at Kyndryl, you'll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. We are looking for several skilled Mainframe Infrastructure professionals to work permanently in Kyndryl Norway. Whether your expertise is in implementation, maintenance, or modernisation, we want to hear from you today!

Key Technologies

We are looking for several skilled Mainframe Infrastructure professionals to join our team permanently at Kyndryl. If you have ideally 5 years experience or more in any one of the following, apply today and let us know what interests you the most:

  • Required Technical and Professional Expertise:

    zHardware and zStorage:
    o Tasks: Integrate, configure, and maintain mainframe hardware and storage systems.
    o Activities: Implement and manage GDPS (Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex) for high availability and disaster recovery, develop and enforce storage policies and procedures, and perform regular hardware upgrades and maintenance.


  • zSecurity:
    o Tasks: Ensure the security of mainframe systems.
    o Activities: Configure and manage RACF (Resource Access Control Facility), conduct security audits, implement security policies, and respond to security incidents.


  • zAutomation:
    o Tasks: Automate mainframe operations to improve efficiency.
    o Activities: Develop and maintain automation scripts, use tools like IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) to automate job scheduling, and monitor automated processes to ensure smooth operation.


  • zCapacity:
    o Activities: Conduct capacity planning studies, forecast future capacity requirements and implement strategies to optimize resource utilization.


  • zISV (Independent Software Vendor) Products:
    o Tasks: Manage and support third-party software products.
    o Activities: Install, configure, and maintain ISV products, ensure compatibility with existing systems, and provide technical support for ISV applications.


  • zOS:
    o Activities: Perform system upgrades, apply patches, manage system configurations, and troubleshoot z/OS-related issues.


  • MQ (IBM MQ):
    o Tasks: Manage messaging middleware for communication between applications.
    o Activities: Install and configure IBM MQ, monitor message queues, and troubleshoot messaging issues.


  • IMS (Information Management System):
    o Tasks: Administer IMS databases and transaction management systems.
    o Activities: Perform database maintenance, optimize IMS performance, and manage IMS transaction processing.


  • CICS (Customer Information Control System):
    o Activities: Configure CICS regions, monitor transaction performance, and troubleshoot CICS-related issues.


  • IDMS (Integrated Database Management System):
    o Activities: Perform database administration tasks, optimize database performance, and ensure data integrity.


  • DB2:
    o Activities: Perform database tuning, manage DB2 instances, and ensure high availability and performance of DB2 databases.


  • IIB (IBM Integration Bus) and Open MVS:
    o Tasks: Manage integration and middleware solutions.
    o Activities: Configure and maintain IBM Integration Bus, develop integration flows, and ensure seamless data exchange between systems.


  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
    • Proficient in English (must have).
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    Preferred Skills:
    • Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices.
