Model Risk Oversight (MRO) is a strategic function within the broader Corporate Risk Management umbrella that manages all quantitative and predictive modeling products to protect our clients and our company. The governance team within MRO plays a key role in establishing the program- creating policies and procedures, establishing reporting, ensuring our program is compliant with regulatory expectations. This role provides an opportunity to drive program requirements and creatively improve model risk management at Schwab.

What you have

We are looking for an individual to assist in developing the program and making sure we are aligned with regulatory guidance, industry practice, and enterprise policies. This role will be exposed to many components of the program and assist in:

  • Maintaining, updating, and rolling out changes to our policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring issue management for issues sourced by MRO.
  • Planning and remediating issues assigned to MRO.
  • Maintaining RCSA risks and controls.
  • Performing risk assessments.
  • Organizing and providing training on model risk program requirements.
  • Supporting testing activities such as audits and control testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Masters degree.
  • Ability to work full time and be on-site at the Schwab Denver location during the 9-week program (June 9 to August 8, 2025)
  • Knowledge of risk management concepts and program management.
  • Knowledge of policies, standards, procedures and understanding of the impact when these documents are updated.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with varying levels of stakeholders.

Target Total Compensation - $36.50-$45.75/hour
