Position Summary
The Associate Director of Accessibility Services is responsible for overseeing and managing accessibility services within CNM. This position works closely with students, faculty, and staff to ensure that individuals with disabilities have equal access to programs, services, and facilities. The associate director provides accommodations, support and resources, advocating for accessibility, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Associate Director of Accessibility Services collaborates with other departments to promote inclusivity and create a more accessible environment for all individuals.

This Associate Director will focus largely on accessible technology, digital accessibility, and accommodations related to provided services and equipment. They will be actively involved in leading strategies to achieve digital accessibility compliance goals for the college.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Directs, leads, and manages staff, which includes prioritizing, and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy, and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
- Leads the following departmental processes and activities, which includes planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating programs, projects, processes, procedures, systems, standards, and/or service offerings; ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards.
- Ensures the timely provision of reasonable accommodations for qualified students with disabilities and recommends directions and renders decisions on student accommodation issues and resolutions.
- Develops and coordinates training for faculty and staff regarding disability access and inclusion, accommodation strategies, various departmental processes and software, and other issues relating to students with disabilities.
- Engages with community partners, organizations and campus stakeholders regarding barriers for individuals with disabilities.
- Stays abreast of emerging adaptive technologies, trends in higher education disability services, disability rights legislation and legal precedent, and educational strategies for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Assists with tracking and reporting on departmental performance with key performance indicators, and service level agreements for students with disabilities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- AND
- Four (4) years of related experience
Preferences:
-Experience in supervision, leadership, or managerial role
-Experience with various adaptive technologies and digital accessibility processes
-Experience with accessibility testing and remediation of digital content
-Experience with developing and leading technical trainings
