As an Intern supporting the Consumer Products Category Management team at Cencora, you will have the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a dynamic business environment. This internship will equip you with essential skills in category management and consumer products while working closely with a mentor. Over the course of our 10-week summer program, you will engage in various projects, gain insights into category operations, and present your key accomplishments and learnings to the Leadership Team at the end of the internship. This position will involve collaboration with various departments and may require onsite presence at our Conshohocken office.

Below are some of the activities in which you can expect to participate.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the category management process and its impact on the business.
  • Work alongside teams in Pricing, Marketing, and Supply Chain to support promotional strategies and category analysis.
  • Assist in analyzing category performance metrics, preparing reports, and presenting findings to the team.
  • Help monitor inventory levels and contribute to inventory planning and markdown recommendations.
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of supplier relationships by assisting in communication and addressing inquiries.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop innovative merchandising programs and promotional campaigns.
  • Work on designated projects, demonstrating the ability to manage time effectively and deliver results independently.
  • Actively participate in training activities, development opportunities, and networking events throughout the internship.
  • Develop strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and leadership.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn, take initiative, and step out of your comfort zone by taking on new assignments.
  • Foster an inclusive and collaborative team culture, contributing to a safe and secure work environment.
  • Carry out duties based on departmental needs and assist in various projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in: Retail Management and Supply Chain Management, Organizational Leadership & Supervision, and Business Management (other related majors will be considered)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future is required

Minimum Skills:

  • Highly motivated self-starter with a keen interest in category management and consumer products.
  • Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across various departments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess data and generate actionable insights.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Good project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with data analysis tools is a plus.
  • Eager to learn, self-motivated, and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
