About the Role:
The purpose of this position is to manage the sourcing, procurement, and management of suppliers and subcontractors in support of the delivery Project Management services.
What You'll Do:

  • Prepare the vendor and/or subcontractor list and update as needed
  • Support, and in some cases lead, cost reduction efforts.
  • Optimize the material and supplier portfolio - that is what materials should be bought in bulk and consumed as needed from inventory by projects, and which materials are best to acquire as needed for specific projects.
  • Prepare procurement execution plans and oversee the full array of materials management and procurement functions of purchasing, expediting, shipping, receipt and logistics.
  • Prepare, maintain and review purchasing files and records, price lists, the status of requisitions, contracts and orders.
  • Create spreadsheets with product or service comparisons of prospective suppliers and/or subcontractors to support management decisions.
  • Negotiation with the suppliers and/or subcontractors to reach for the best prices.
  • Manage the vendor prequalification and on-boarding process.
  • Interview prospective suppliers and/or subcontractors to determine prices, discounts, terms, etc.
  • Prepare, maintain and review purchasing records, produce management reports, track the status of requisitions, contracts and orders.
  • Drafts, reviews and collaborate with management in the negotiation of contracts and other business documents in support of the procurement of goods and services.
  • Work collaboratively with Project Management to coordinate supplier and/or subcontractor selection, track supplier and/or subcontractor performance standards, and conduct ongoing evaluation.
  • Establish procurement strategies for acquisition, receiving and tracking of project materials to optimize quality, cost, timely delivery criteria to support client strategies and objectives.

  • Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.
  • Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies.
  • Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff.
  • Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime.
  • Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination.
  • Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area.
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. C.P.M., C.P.S.M. or N.A.C.M. certifications or eligibility preferred.
  • Professional knowledge in Construction industry methods, and applications, Construction Procurement and related governmental laws and legislation is highly preferred
  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention preferred.
  • Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
  • Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
  • Advanced math skills. Ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
