About the role
As a CBRE Dock Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for managing the logistics and operations of multiple loading docks at a high-paced, CBRE-managed office, retail, residential, venue and hotel portfolio consisting of 30+ bays.
This job is part of the Property Management job function responsible for operating buildings on behalf of a client or group.
What you'll do
- Oversee the day-to-day logistics and operations of multiple loading docks at our prestigious downtown portfolio, ensuring exceptionally smooth operations and customer service.
- Take charge of the loading dock software, schedule/calendar, and approval process, ensuring strict adherence to protocols.
- Coordinate all aspects of approved deliveries, including assigning loading dock bays, directing traffic, and providing exceptional customer service.
- Operate dock lift, levelers, and freight/service elevators with precision and efficiency.
- Track and communicate any maintenance-related needs in the loading dock to the management team, ensuring a flawless environment.
- Assist in conducting routine trainings and meetings to ensure continuity and exceptional performance across all shifts.
- Act as the main point of contact for dock delivery access, fostering strong communication and collaboration among all parties involved.
- Coordinate directly with tenants as dock reservations are requested, approved, and/or rejected, ensuring seamless processes.
- Facilitate effective communication and interactions between tenants, deliveries, security, and property management, promoting a world-class experience.
- Employ your expertise to accommodate deliveries by relocating or assigning alternative bays or adjacent loading docks, ensuring efficient operations.
- Track delivery timelines to ensure they are within the approved time period, while monitoring usage, conflicting deliveries, and resolving any issues.
- Maintain and ensure strict adherence to delivery protocols, rules and regulations, dock security measures, and dock maintenance standards.
- Assist in reviewing loading dock software reports, analyzing tenant usage, billing matrixes, compliance trends, and providing valuable insights.
- Demonstrate your exceptional problem-solving skills by recognizing and solving typical and atypical problems in your work area.
- Evaluate and select solutions from established options, showcasing your proven track record to make effective decisions.
- Make a significant impact on the team through the quality of services and information provided, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
- Follow standardized procedures and practices while receiving regular but moderate supervision and guidance.

What you'll need
- Equivalent experience in lieu of a High School Diploma or GED, with 3-5+ years of job-related experience. Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
- Retail, Office, and/or Manufacturing loading dock experience is required, with experience at a Convention Center/Arena/Stadium considered a plus.
- In-depth understanding of work routines, standards, and applying skills and knowledge in various processes, procedures, and systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple operators, tenants, and onsite developer/owner, fostering a culture of collaboration and partnership.
- Sophisticated problem-solving skills, with the ability to review and select solutions independently without supervisory approval.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain detailed and complicated information clearly and concisely to the team.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational skills with a robust and inquisitive approach, ensuring efficient operations.
- Strong math skills, including the ability to calculate sophisticated figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
