About The Role:

As a CBRE Development Investment Senior Vice President, you will secure control of development opportunities, complete development projects, and lead project teams to implement the development plan with particular emphasis on the Multifamily product type.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop relationships with market participants (investors, brokers, tenants, lenders, engineers, appraisers, etc.) to maintain current knowledge of market conditions and opportunities.
  • Identify and gain control of new development and build-to-suit development opportunities.
  • Create and implement product-specific business plans.
  • Run pre-development process to include due diligence, entitlements, risk mitigation, and overall deal viability. Be accountable for assumptions in the development underwriting.
  • Secure deal terms from a variety of debt and equity sources for purposes of calculating optimal capital structure.
  • Collaborate with capital partners on day-to-day communications regarding project progress.
  • Create and present investment packages and handle projects through internal Investment Committee process.
  • Resolve project execution, operating budgets, including hiring of project leasing and property management teams, securing major leases, leading acquisition and disposition of assets, and other related activities.
  • Review the company proprietary asset management system information on assigned projects. Ensure completeness and accuracy of data.
  • Support deal document redlining, tracking and completion for term sheets, purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, and lease agreements.
  • Collaborate with external clients and internal business units, ensuring fast response time for all prospective investments, tenants, and potential third-party sponsor.
  • Responsible for providing valuable feedback during recruitment, selection, promotion, and advancement processes for direct reports.

What You'll Need:

To perform this job successfully, an individual will need to perform each crucial duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or architecture required. A law degree, MBA, or other relevant graduate degree preferred.
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience in commercial real estate, finance, investment, or consulting role(s) preferred. Emphasis on Multifamily ideal.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of financial and real estate terms and principles.
  • Experience in successful collaboration with key partners, including employees, top management, investors, lenders, sellers, tenants, public and private partners, and community groups to take desired action.
  • Previous experience leading multiple individuals on teams, and developing and implementing business strategy.
  • High level of analytical and quantitative skills to develop strategic solutions. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, present value, internal rates of return, and/or commissions.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements from outside sources. Ability to comprehend and interpret business documents.
  • Ability to address problems and progress projects in unique, ambiguous situations. Ability to accept change, critical questioning, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, and reliable service to coworkers and partners. Ability to respond to issues.
  • Strength in both written and verbal communication. Strong time management capabilities. Ability to work with multiple collaborators to create achievable project schedules and meet project timelines.
