RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings.
This position will perform Carpenter duties.
Keep hardware, doors, etc. in good working order.
Knowledge of locksmithing, pinning a key core, working on electrical exit devices, or willing to learn.

Works on minor remodeling projects, builds counters and cabinets, as the need arises.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Carpenters perform assignments following industry, accepted procedures and hospital and department guidelines to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff and visitors.
The core competencies, universal proficiencies and organizational expectations are essential functions requiring physical or mental skills and abilities fundamental to the position.
Core Competencies- Responsible for the repairs and installation of locks, hardware, and doors.
Construct and maintain all types of woodworks and structural framework according to established procedures.
Installs and inspects fixtures and accessories in accordance with all codes and installation instructions.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills of carpentry techniques in cabinet making, floor and wall repair and operating hardware etc.
Installs locks and changes lock combinations according to established procedures.
Cuts keys and maintains key control records.
Skilled in steel stud framing and drywall.
Interpersonal Expectations: knowledge, skills and abilities needed.
Completes all initial and annual required learning relevant to the carpenter's role to a safe work environment, technical competencies, organizational skills, technical skills and ability to accept cultural differences.
Performs other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair on mechanical, electrical, and other building systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance inspections, diagnose potential problems, and make repairs.
- Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
- Assign work orders and estimate the time and materials needed to complete repairs.
- Support energy management by ensuring all building systems are operating efficiently.
- Inspect new installations for compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
- Have some knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience in applying them.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 2-3 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
- Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
