Role:

As a Senior Manager on the Finance Integrated Program and Delivery team, you will collaborate with smart and passionate leaders on strategic initiatives that are transforming our company. Team members are best-in-class leaders in operationalizing and implementing complex, large-scale business strategies and solutions. You will be responsible for all phases of project delivery - from definition and planning to problem solving and implementation. You will also lead a team of project managers focused on partnering with teams across Finance to deliver against critical bodies of work. The ideal candidate can deliver in a challenging and fast-paced environment, and needs to be skilled in managing stakeholder and customer expectations, while concurrently maintaining delivery momentum. The role requires a well-rounded individual who is comfortable adjusting their approach to meet unique needs across multiple stakeholder groups within a complex organization. This is an exciting opportunity for a well-rounded candidate to help boldly model the future of the Finance organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Autonomously lead large-scale, cross-functional, complex technology transformations by providing direction to program teams, functional area representatives, accountable executives and other stakeholders to drive results
  • Plan, design, manage, execute and document project plans to ensure delivery, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage the work
  • Drive projects based on defined priorities; ensure scope of deliverables, timelines and budget are met while maintaining project plans and critical documentation
  • Proactively identify and remediate risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating where necessary. Leverage problem solving skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent
  • Demonstrate outstanding communication skill by displaying ability to tailor written and verbal messages to the appropriate level including an executive audience; produce professional, thoughtful presentation materials to drive home the big picture for leadership teams to make well informed decisions; and demonstrate confidence in presenting to that audience
  • Display exceptional consulting and collaboration skills with a variety of stakeholders across all levels to understand business problems, ensure accountability and focus on bringing issues to resolution, which includes clarifying and defining business needs, requirements and use cases.
  • Assist teams in developing program objectives and corresponding key results to tie back to value-delivered
  • Demonstrate organizational agility to adapt to changing demands
  • Show a willingness to learn and an intellectual curiosity to better understand Capital One's business processes to identify areas to streamline or improve business processes
  • Apply understanding of financial, data, and technology concepts to program objectives

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 7 years of experience in Project Management
  • At least 2 years of experience in Process Improvement
  • At least 1 year of experience in People Management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or MBA degree
  • At least 8 years of Project Management experience
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Strong problem solving and influencing skills
  • Strong understanding of financial, banking, data, and technology concepts
  • Experience leading large scale technology transformation programs
