Senior Platform Engineer

The Financial Services Tech (FS Tech) Robotic Process Automation (RPA) team is responsible for developing new and existing process automations. These can be a wide range of Business Process Automations or Robotic Process Automations with intelligent automations sprinkled in. The team is also responsible for driving enterprise governance, being well managed, and contributing to the enterprise platform or technology ecosystem where applicable. This team will partner with stakeholders to collect requirements, and manage a SLDC for the automations created. We use CICD principles and assist in building a common framework across Capital One. As a Platform Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within Capital One.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support process automation solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies
  • Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community
  • Collaborate with digital product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive intuitive, compelling associate experiences that leverage automation
  • Utilize programming languages like JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, SQL, Python, and a variety of AWS tools and services
  • Support other tasks as needed, such as product migrations, Integration activities, vulnerability remediation, and platform maintenance tasks.
  • Contribute to the overall strategy and goal development for the automation product
  • Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends and best practices: experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in community of practice groups, and mentor other members of the RPA and Machine Learning communities
  • Collaborate with multiple internal functions in the areas of infrastructure, technical operations, software engineering and customer support
  • Act as a thought leader and advocate of Intelligent Process Automation technology in partnership with other technology groups

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
  • At least 3 years experience building automation frameworks and configuring RPA tools (Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, UIPath, or WorkFusion)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience building automation frameworks and configuring RPA tools (Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, UIPath, or WorkFusion)
  • 2+ years of experience with AWS
  • 2+ years of experience in open source frameworks
  • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices
