As a senior member of the Connectivity Security Team, you'll be part of the process that contributes to securing, validating and sustaining Capital One products, which millions of customers across the world use on a daily basis. TheCapital One Connectivity Security teamis looking for a Senior Lead to automate infrastructure configurations, remove toil, integrate new technologies, and hire, coach, and develop a team to continue to elevate our capabilities in this area.

Members of the Connectivity Security team at Capital One are expected to be strong in multiple domains and provide significant contributions to the team. You'll be expected to develop solutions and apply appropriate decision making to complex business problems, all while adhering to security engineering best practices. Team members in this role are expected to participate fully in the planning of the team's work and constantly seek opportunities for process improvements. A successful candidate will need a combination of troubleshooting, technical, and communication skills.

Key job responsibilities:

  • Automate network infrastructure configurations
  • Create innovative solutions to address complex issues
  • Develop strategy and roadmap for the program
  • Develop strategy and systems to remove manual toil
  • Contribution to multiple risk forums related to area of work
  • Drive adoption of infrastructure / configuration as code
  • Work across lines of business to execute joint strategy and initiatives to further the program
  • Projects and research work as needed
  • Metrics delivery and improvements
  • Assistance with recruiting activities and administrative work

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 8 years of experience working in cybersecurity
  • At least 5 years of experience translating cybersecurity analysis into product requirements
  • At least 4 years of automating network infrastructure configuration
  • At least 4 years of scripting experience
  • At least 4 years of experience with network security
  • At least 2 years of cloud experience
  • At least 2 years of experience with Jira

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of scripting experience with BASH, REST, JSON, Python or Ansible
  • 2+ years of experience implementing security solutions at the enterprise level
  • 2+ years of experience with large scale security implementations
  • 4+ years of experience with network switching, routing, load balancing, and firewall solutions
  • 2+ years of experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
