The Governance of Controls, Issues, Events team supports Retail Risk Monitoring, Process, & Governance. Our team is made up of passionate and dynamic risk professionals focused on enhancing the risk profile of our Retail Bank and Premium Products business through execution of mission-critical risk, process, and control programs. We are seeking an inquisitive and organized team player to join us as a Principal Risk Associate. As part of this horizontal 1st Line risk management function, this associate will have the unique opportunity to become a subject matter expert in the processes, controls and problems across the Retail Bank and Premium Products organization. Day-to-day, this associate will be working with 1st and 2nd line stakeholders consulting and executing on the well managed governance roadmap, while performing Pre-closure QA. This includes providing support and guidance to risk management professionals to ensure problem documentation is in adherence to enterprise standards.

The other primary functions of the team for Retail Bank and Premium Products Risk Office includes governance and support for event and issue management, risk management, audits and exams, and first line compliance monitoring and reporting intent. Utilizing tools such as Tableau and Looker studio. This position partners with 1st and 2nd lines of defense for the governance and oversight of events and issue management. This will include consultation, training and implementation of methodology changes to Retail Bank and Premium Products risk office partners. The role will be responsible for facilitating risk reporting, intent prioritization discussions and implementation plans. This role also requires proficiency in the creation and use of Google slides.

Responsibilities

  • Build partnerships with multiple first and second line teams to influence methodology and training for event and issue governance
  • Lead weekly/monthly governance forums for the Event and Issue methodology and standard requirements and changes
  • Participates in defining the methodology and problem management process leveraged within Retail Bank and Premium Products Risk teams to show adherence of enterprise standard requirements
  • Be recognized as the subject matter expert on the team for control, event, and issue governance
  • Problem Lead role includes the quality review and approval of event and issues for closure
  • Perform analysis and evaluation of data across multiple assessments to identify key areas of opportunity and trends
  • Tracking and updating process documentation, procedures and training materials
  • Resolve or escalate impediments as needed
  • Support team with overall governance, reporting and change management
  • Assist with the creation and use of Google slides for the broader team

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or Military Experience or at least 1 year of Process Management experience
  • At least 1 year of Risk Management experience
  • At least 1 year of experience supporting, partnering and interacting with internal business clients
  • At least 1 year of Google Suite experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years of experience in Project or Process Management
  • 2+ years of experience in Governance or Risk Management
  • 2+ years of experience in Change Management
