Principal Associate, Accounting - Close & Consolidations

We are seeking a highly motivated professional that is interested in working in a collaborative and dynamic financial services company to join our Close & Consolidations team. This Principal Associate role will be focused on the implementation of our new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and will be responsible for the planning, coordination and implementation of changes to the Close & Consolidations process. Throughout this project, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with teams across the broader Organization and will have the ability to understand our current and future systems. The accuracy of these systems is essential to reporting correct financial information to our executives, regulators, and investors.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of highly talented associates and contractors across the Controllers Group to design and implement solutions to reimagine our existing close & consolidation process.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of our systems (PeopleSoft General Ledger and Hyperion Consolidation tool), including activities, risks and issues, assumptions and dependencies.
  • Prepare and propose reconciling journal entries. Ability to understand the relationships between various financial line items and general ledger accounts.
  • Gather and document requirements related to system configuration changes.
  • Lead and assist in the development, testing and implementation of project requirements.
  • Present results, findings, risks and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Recommend changes or modifications to the existing processes and standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, results-oriented and able to collaborate across teams.
  • Demonstrate ability to maintain effectiveness in a constantly changing environment.
  • Apply integrative thinking in complex situations, identify issues and propose solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
  • At least 3 years experience in Accounting, Finance, or a combination

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with PeopleSoft Financial System, Hyperion or Workday.
  • Experience with ERP implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to automate manual processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Smart View.
