Learning & Development Manager
Capital One's Learning & Development team is seeking a Learning & Development Manager. This individual will be part of a team responsible for consulting with HRBPs and executives in our lines of business and collaborating with colleagues to design, develop and implement impactful learning experiences and solutions that will fuel our growth as a company and help our associates develop cutting-edge skills.
As the L&D Manager, you will serve as a visionary and support the Line of Business / Business Area learning strategy with crafting new experiences, tracking projects and managing multiple initiatives in order to effectively connect, create value and build skills capabilities across Capital One. In your role as a consultant you will engage with our stakeholders to determine learning needs and solutions.

The ideal candidate would be a strategic thinker, problem solver, experienced facilitator and a relationship builder who is adept at innovating and staying agile in approach while managing risk and exercising good judgment. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent project and program management skills and is able to navigate autonomously in an ambiguous, fast-paced and matrixed environment. The individual will have the opportunity to coach, mentor and manage junior associates on the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project manage multiple initiatives within the team; leading program teams and also providing support at various capacity levels
- Ensure scope of deliverables, timelines and budget are met, identify risks and issues and mitigate and / or escalate as needed
- Recommend evidence-informed solutions that improve and streamline learner experiences and drive adoption of culture change
- Use exceptional influence, written, and verbal communication skills to refine and socialize our L&D strategy, where learning is a lever to optimally support the enterprise
- Partner with key stakeholders to identify and prioritize points of leverage for business impact and scope for new initiatives
- Partner with other Learning & Development professionals across the Enterprise to gain efficiencies, share best practices, and optimize how we interact
- Influence across multiple cross-functional teams, client organizations, and groups without direct authority, collaborate with enterprise learning peers to leverage existing products and experiences, and identify solutions that achieve shared results
- Stay current with external trends, best practices, and innovations and infuse these into the work products and consulting offered to clients
- Leverage experience and background in instructional design and adult learning to drive the creation and adoption of innovative and cutting edge blended learning experiences utilizing digital, video, audio, mobile, and experiential learning formats
- Leverage expertise in adult learning to inform the learning strategy and products
- Comfort facilitating and leading training/workshops effectively, engaging associates at all levels
- Coach and develop learning professionals to enable them to bring their best skills and talents to Capital One and to continue to grow

Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
- At least 3 years of experience in client facing consulting
- At least 3 years of experience in learning and development
- At least 1 year of experience in project management
- At least 1 year of experience in learning strategy creation
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of people leadership / management experience
- Familiarity with change management
- At least 5 years of experience in learning and development
- At least 3 years of experience in learning strategy creation
- Experience facilitating across a variety of modalities including in person and virtual programs
