Canada Payroll Principal Coordinator
This Payroll Principal Coordinator performs a wide variety of payroll activities which may include updating key transactions into the payroll processing system, calculating final pay, posting and reconciling payroll, correcting errors arising during payroll processing, conducting audits and preparing reports. This Payroll Principal Coordinator will work closely with Capital One Associates to answer their payroll questions and resolve any issues with a key focus on associate experience.
- Performs daily tasks related to payroll including but not limited to new hire information entry, TD1 entry, processing of overpayments, terminations, retroactive payments, payroll adjustments, reconciliations, and stop payments.
- Ability to format files to be interfaced into the Payroll System
- Performs reconciliations of payroll, benefit and deduction transactions
- Reviews payroll system output for errors and makes necessary corrections in the payroll system
- Assists other Capital One HR Partners as required, to resolve errors and maintain or update accurate information in the payroll system
- Assists the HR Help Desk representatives in handling and following up on inquiries related to payroll
- Provides additional information and guidance to associates with questions concerning their pay
- Performs a variety of regularly scheduled and ad-hoc audits of the payroll data to maintain compliance with established standards
- Assists in year-end T4 reporting and preparation
- Regular attendance is required to be successful in this role and overtime may be required as business needs dictate

Basic Qualifications/ Experience:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent certification
- At least 1 year of experience in Google Suite products (for example: Sheets, Slides, Docs)
- At least 2 years of Payroll experience
Preferred Qualifications/ Experience:
- Associate's degree or military experience
- Experience with Workday HR System
- Experience with case management systems
- Understanding of the gross to net calculation inclusive of pre/post tax deductions and taxable benefits
- Strong understanding of end to end payroll and payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Familiarity with pay and benefit programs
- Strong verbal and written communications
- Working knowledge of ADP Global View application

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Richmond, VA: $56,800 - $64,800 for Principal HR Coordinator
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
