Capital Group is looking for an Operations Senior Analyst to join our Global Stewardship and Engagement (GSE) team. The GSE team is responsible for ensuring Capital Group successfully executes on our fiduciary duty related to proxy, governance, and long-term value creation. Key focus areas for the team include:
Operations: Associates on the GSE team play a critical role ensuring that we have strong systems, processes, execution, and risk management. The operations team seamlessly executes proxy operations, including management of data that supports automated and manual processes, reporting, regulatory compliance, technology builds, and inputs into Capital Group's securities lending program.
Proxy Voting and Engagement: Research Analysts on the GSE team are responsible for conducting deep research and producing guidance on proxy votes for our investors to review. Research Analysts also partner with investors to engage portfolio companies on corporate governance matters, encouraging long term shareholder value creation.

Capital Group's Long Term Strategic Plan recognizes our imperative to evolve with our clients and to simplify and scale. This role will contribute to both objectives by leading the GSE Operations team's work on the enhancements to data, systems and reporting that underpin our proxy voting, engagement and reporting. They will also partner across the Global ESG team, in which GSE sits, on other key projects and enhancements with groups like the ESG Client & Stakeholder team and ESG Business Operations.

- Process Improvement and Control Enhancement: You will lead technical process improvements to support the automation of manual tasks to streamline workflows, enable scale and enhance our control environment.
- Partner with the GSE Operations Manager to identify manual processes which would benefit from automation or increased controls.
- Collaborate with GSE Ops and colleagues across the business to develop, implement, document, and refine process enhancements.
- Data and systems: You will be the lead business partner to counterparts in our data and technology teams as we enhance existing tools, new tools are developed, and ensure our data is high quality and well governed.
- Partner with colleagues on the GSE Research and Operations teams to analyze, elicit and articulate business needs and write strong requirements for tools that support proxy research and related functions (e.g., dashboards / data visualizations on dilution, executive compensation, and client queries).
- Lead the GSE team's perspective on governance data that should be made available to CG investment professionals more widely on our internal research platform (IG Portal)
- In each project, partner with the ESG Business Operations function on prioritization and with technology teams (e.g. ESG Data, IG Tech) as they build and refine tools based on our requirements.
- Collaborates with internal project managers, teams, and external vendors for key systems (ISS, PBO for Securities Lending).
- Lead testing and feedback to support finished product development.
- Own ongoing troubleshooting and future enhancements.
- Builds and refines basic dashboards.
- Reporting: You will lead enhancements to, and execution of, key annual regulatory reports.
- Partner with GSE Ops colleagues on annual updates to regulatory reporting, including US NP-X and UK SRD2 obligations.
- Remain abreast of regulatory changes impacting CG's reporting and the operational implications of these. Propose and implement enhancements as needed.
- Working with partners across CG, deliver final reports to regulators timely and in a format that meets our obligations.

- You have working knowledge of an operations function with significant focus on data and technology.
- You can develop high quality written requirements, partnering with tech teams on delivery, and lead testing and feedback.
- You have experience managing projects with cross functional stakeholders, communicate clearly, balance the needs of diverse stakeholders, and deliver projects successfully and on time.
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. You're able to assess issues, identify potential solutions, and implement changes/improvements to achieve the right outcomes that have tangible and impactful implications for the business.
- You've worked with large datasets, manipulating, and transforming them as needed to fulfill requirements, and have working knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- You can successfully prioritize work and complete in a timely manner, operating with meaningful degrees of autonomy.
- You take initiative, are intellectual curious, and have high standards of excellence and collegiality.
- You have working knowledge of proxy voting or similar order processing operations.
- You have a minimum of 4 years working experience in financial services, preferably in an operations-related role.
- You have a bachelor's degree.
Southern California Base Salary Range: $121,652-$194,643
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
