Key Responsibilities:

Database Administration:

Administer DB2 databases, including installation, configuration, backup, and recovery operations.

Perform database monitoring to ensure performance, availability, and reliability.

Implement and manage DB2 database security, including user management and roles.

Performance Tuning:

Monitor and optimize database performance by analyzing and troubleshooting issues related to indexing, queries, and database structure.

Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including reorganization and optimization of tables and indexes.

Backup and Recovery:

Ensure regular and reliable backup of DB2 databases.

Develop and implement disaster recovery procedures and ensure rapid database restoration in case of failure.

Database Migration & Upgrades:

Manage and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patches.

Perform version control and ensure compatibility of databases with the latest DB2 versions.

Troubleshooting and Support:

Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including performance problems, failures, and query issues.

Provide 24/7 support for critical database systems.

Collaboration and Documentation:

Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to optimize application and database performance.

Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and best practices.

Compliance and Security:

Ensure that databases are compliant with relevant laws, policies, and security standards.

Implement database encryption, audit logging, and other security measures to protect sensitive data.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5-8 years of experience as a DB2 Database Administrator.

In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with DB2 LUW (Linux, UNIX, Windows).

Expertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, and problem-solving.

Strong experience with backup and recovery strategies and tools.

Familiarity with DB2 High Availability (HADR) and DB2 clustering.

Excellent understanding of SQL and stored procedures.

Knowledge of DB2 security, user roles, and access control.
