Reaching speeds of more than 186 miles per hour, this 218-mile high-speed rail service will take passengers from Las Vegas to the Greater Los Angeles area twice as fast as the normal drive time.

SUMMARY

We are currently seeking an experienced Deputy CFO, Accounting to help oversee the financial operations of our development company tied to accounting. This individual will play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of our construction projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in daily, weekly and monthly reporting, including managing accounting procedures.

The ideal candidate will be able to perform all day-to-day accounting and treasury, while playing an important role in the bigger picture of financial activities for the Company. This individual will possess a strong background in accounting, treasury, controls, and budgeting, with experience working within finance teams that engaged in capital raising and acquisition opportunities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting of all company internal and audited company financials in-compliance with government and lender reporting requirements.

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for construction projects, including income statements, balance sheets, forecast updates.
  • Working alongside the FP&A team on predictive analytics, internal reporting, and performance management against projections.
  • Develop and manage budgets, cash flow requirements and forecasts for the company, collaborating with the project controls team, project managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate cost tracking and forecasting.
  • Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures specific to construction projects, including job costing, work in progress schedules, and revenue recognition in accordance with industry standards.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis of construction projects, including variance analysis, cost-to-complete assessments, and profitability analysis, providing actionable insights to project teams and senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and reporting requirements related to real estate and construction activities, including sales tax, use tax, and cost segregation studies.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls and procedures for construction accounting processes, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with the leadership team to help translate business strategies and objectives into financial goals and outcomes, recommending process improvements and enhanced analytics to drive strategic decisions.
  • Elevate and scale processes and systems for forecasting and modeling to expediently provide financial guidance, support strategic investments, and drive financial decisions.
  • Prepare executive presentations and recommendations to senior management and the Board of Directors as needed.

REQUIRED AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • 15+ years of experience with a minimum of 8 years accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or relevant major; CPA preferred
  • Thorough understanding of construction accounting principles, including GAAP requirements
  • Proven experience in scaling companies, driving change and supporting growing teams within a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Must demonstrate a deep familiarity with financial accounting and treasury.
  • Must be an analytical thinker that will drive qualitative and quantitative analysis for strategic business issues.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to lead change and drive execution.
