WHAT YOU'LL DO

We are seeking an IT Compliance Analyst to join our Security GRC team. This role will focus on IT General Controls related to various compliance frameworks, including SOX and other IT compliance initiatives that support Braze's business objectives. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in IT compliance, particularly in areas such as SOX, GDPR, HIPAA, and ISO 27001. Responsibilities include performing IT compliance audits, supporting technology teams in preparing and producing compliance evidence, and assisting with risk assessments. The IT Compliance Analyst will play a key role in supporting technology and engineering teams' adherence to multiple regulatory requirements, ensuring robust internal controls of financial reporting, and facilitating technology audit activities across various compliance domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • SOX IT Compliance Support: Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of IT General Controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements
  • SOX Audits: Participate in and support the execution of SOX audits, focusing on IT General Controls, including identifying control gaps, performing walkthroughs, and assisting in the remediation of controls and design
  • Evidence Collection & Documentation: Collaborate with technology teams to gather and organize SOX evidence related to IT General Controls, ensuring timely and accurate documentation of internal controls
  • Control Testing & Evaluation: Conduct periodic review of IT General Controls, tracking the status of remediation efforts, and providing support for remediation of any deficiencies identified
  • Risk Assessments: Assist in evaluating financial and operational risks associated with IT General Controls, helping to identify areas requiring improvement or new and modified controls
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (Finance, IT, Legal, etc.) to ensure compliance efforts related to IT General Controls are aligned and operating effectively
  • Audit Liaison: Act as a liaison between internal and external auditors regarding IT General Controls and other IT initiatives, providing necessary documentation and facilitating audit requests
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of SOX compliance processes related to IT General Controls, making recommendations for process enhancements
  • System Implementations: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide compliance and risk management insights during system implementations, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational policies
  • Training & Guidance: Provide support and training to technology teams on SOX compliance, internal control requirements and expectations, and industry best practices specifically related to IT General Controls

WHO YOU ARE

  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in SOX IT compliance, auditing, or internal controls, with a strong understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements, particularly in IT General Controls
  • Experience with Compliance Automation Tooling: Experience working in an environment with some level of automated evidence collection and reporting. Experience with industry-standard tools that facilitate the collection and analysis of evidence
  • SOX Audit Experience: Prior experience performing SOX audits and assisting in the development of control evidence and documentation focused on IT General Controls is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of Internal Controls: Strong understanding of internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO) and ability to assess the design and operating effectiveness of IT General Controls
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with SOX compliance tools and software
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams and external auditors
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Certifications (preferred): CPA, CIA, or CISA certification is a plus but not required

For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $81,000 and $99,000/year with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $90,000 and $110,000/year (including bonus or commission). Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to cash compensation, Braze offers full- and part- time employees a comprehensive Total Rewards package that includes equity grants of restricted stock (RSUs) so that all Braze employees own a piece of our company.
