Practice Area Profile

What You'll Do

As a Senior Manager, you will work closely with our client's leadership teams to understand their key challenges, define IT strategies, win buy-in for your recommendations and lead fellow BCG case team members to transform client potential into performance.

You will deploy customized IT strategies, digital platforms and architecture in order to leverage the digital potential of our customers with state of the art tools such as cloud computing, AI, blockchain, microservices and containerization. You will evaluate and coach our clients' technology teams, manage quality and risk while maintaining client expectations and escalations.

Besides the functional guidance of the project team you will also be operationally responsible for the execution and management of the solution. Together with our clients you will develop convincing IT strategies, concepts and solutions, applying your sound technical know-how along with your analytical and conceptual skills.

You will manage diverse teams of consulting talent. Your role will be to help those teams flourish through thought leadership, team mentoring, knowledge sharing, giving frequent feedback and creating opportunities for team members to learn and grow. You will also personally develop and grow by being exposed to new and complex challenges daily.

Clients will also seek your advice as a thought leader on business issues that extend beyond the immediate scope of you project work.

Finally as a Principal you will contribute to the Practice Area development and help to build the BCG brand as a digital leader.

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

• 12+ years' experience in consulting, implementation or migration of ERP & Core Systems, technical project management, digital delivery or technology consulting related with ERPs and Core Systems
• Ability to bring unique tech perspectives from outside the consulting industry into BCG's typical engagements, requiring:
- Consulting experience (required)
- Strategic mindset (hypothesis driven, 80:20 mindset, iterative approach, activist stance) - Self-managed
• Leadership potential to transform the consulting industry in particular around interaction with designers, engineers and POs
- Progressing thought leadership in deep tech
- New (but proven) methodologies or ways of working
• Ability to balance dogmatism and pragmatism to guide decision-making. Articulate trade-offs and drive high-impact technology decisions on topics including (but not limited to) architecture, integration, lean core, edge solutions, best of breed and bespoke solutions.
• ERP migration landscapes deployment topologies, including operational concerns such as having the right change and run models • Right balance between functional and technical trade-off and experiences in data migration, cutover and PMO
• Deep understanding of different integration patterns and best practices such as events, synchronous vs. asynchronous, Data integration, etc.
• Deep understanding and experience within ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Preferred industry Background: Energy, Banking
• University degree with above average academic performance in a mathematical or scientific field, information technology, or business administration

At BCG Platinion you will have the opportunity to travel around the globe to work with clients and BCG teams. At times, this role involves significant travel to client sites. The amount of travel will depend on client needs and nature of projects.
