We have embarked on an exciting journey of modernizing and transforming our US and Canada payroll functions, engaging a third-party consulting firm to uncover opportunities and develop a detailed roadmap. By rethinking structures, harmonizing processes, and automating key tasks with new technologies, we intend to create a simpler and more efficient operating model encouraging collaboration and flexibility for the payroll function to meet the evolving and growing needs of BCG.

This person will ensure that payroll transactions are processed efficiently and accurately in accordance with BCG policies and procedures, and in compliance with Canadian local, state, provincial, and federal laws and best practices. This individual will provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers and governmental agencies. This role involves partnering with our North America Payroll leadership team to support strategic initiatives.

YOU'RE GOOD AT

Process and finalize full cycle payroll processing; including transmitting, reconciliation, and accepting / committing payroll data for all Canadian employees on a semi-monthly basis using outside payroll vendor (Ceridian)

Receive and process payroll change information from local offices and Workday

Audit information for completeness and take appropriate action where needed

Accurately compute retroactive pay, partial pay and overpayments based on input data

Receive, input, and review bi-weekly time sheets for accuracy

Prepare special payment files by using external programs for input to processing platform

Maintain all data on payroll systems

Proven ability to build strong partnerships with colleagues across the organization (HR, technology etc.), desire to be flexible and think strategically

Provide support to leadership by driving processing efficiencies, standardization, and employee development / engagement

Work alongside the North America Payroll team on special projects targeted at transforming and modernizing the US and Canada payroll functions

Strong project management skills; must be able to manage multiple complex projects at the same time

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned or required

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)

Associates degree in a business related field or equivalent experience in payroll-related field; Bachelor's Degree is preferred

3+ years payroll processing experience with automated systems, including report writing tools.

Expertise in Ceridian and ADP platforms is highly preferred

Proficient using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

Key Competencies:

Proficient using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

Extensive knowledge of payroll functions, including preparation, balancing, internal controls, and payroll taxes.

Experience with Canadian payroll taxation rules and regulations

Knowledge of provincial, state, federal and local payroll laws and best practices

Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner

Excellent customer service orientation with creative and resourceful problem solving skills - "can do" attitude

Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization

Self starter, highly motivated and innovative

Work environment:

Must be able to perform successfully in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, service-oriented environment and to interpret rules and guidelines flexibly to enhance the business and in keeping with BCG's values and culture

Experience working successfully within a complex matrix structured organization is essential

It is necessary to have the ability to understand and manage complex reporting relationships and incorporate multiple cultures

Candidates may be considered for this position at the Payroll Analyst or Payroll Senior Analyst levels depending on skills and experience.

YOU'LL WORK WITH
Members of our finance team are responsible for preserving the intellectual capital, assets, and integrity of BCG. We make a decisive impact on the firm's direction, performance, and risk-management models. Finance jobs include accounting and reporting, planning and analysis, tax and treasury, financial systems, payroll, and executive compensation.

The payroll team processes payroll for approximately 10,000 employees in the US and Canada. Our team of 15-20 payroll members are located across Boston, Atlanta, and Toronto.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Format Information: *
This role currently requires 3 days a week in office presence. This provides flexibility the remaining 40% of the work week. This hybrid work plan allows for critically important learning, collaboration, and networking with our colleagues. Specific days in the office are agreed upon by the team.
