Practice Area Profile

What You'll Do

As a part of BCG's X DELIVERY BUILD team, you will work closely with consulting teams, contributing your oversight while actively developing on projects. You will be responsible for architecting technical solutions and driving business decisions. Your project management skills will come in handy for client projects as well as internal products. You will also contribute technically through a deeper understanding of relevant processes and experience in practice areas to build high-quality and efficient solutions. You will collaborate with global stakeholders, including Project teams and clients, by serving as a thought partner to help clients realize the power of strategic AI solutions.

You will have the opportunity to lead and mentor a team of software engineers. You will also be responsible for leading internal initiatives and contributing to the team's growth through recruitment.

YOU'RE GOOD AT (ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES)

Get involved in all aspects of web-development by playing a critical role in gathering requirements, scoping, estimation, design, planning, development, and deployment.
Design and develop the overall web architecture, built for performance and scalability.
Provide solutions to business problems and translate them into technically feasible solutions.
Proactively identify risks and suggest solutions pertaining to the Frontend, Backend and Infrastructure topics.
Lead and oversee project teams, comprising Software and Data Engineers.
Effectively communicate technical insights to stakeholders and project teams by skillfully synthesizing and presenting results, including creating persuasive PowerPoint slides and charts.
Take accountability for the quality of deliverables.
Continuously help in developing best practices for the team to implement.
Demonstrate the ability to review and approve code confidently, and actively seeking project opportunities through internal connections and networking.
Impart technical trainings to team members.
Be flexible with working hours to work on critical issues and/or connect with client/project teams/clients when required.
Take ownership of internal non-project initiatives related to software development, ensuring their successful planning and execution.
Contribute actively to the recruitment initiative by taking interviews, providing inputs on how to improve the overall recruitment process and experience for candidates.
Communicate confidently and deliver messages in a concise manner with strong and effective written and verbal communication.
Take thoughtful and logical decisions that are in the best interest of the team. Ability to take ownership of the escalations, assist in finding the root cause and implementation of the mitigation steps

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

Bachelor's / Master's degree in Computer Science engineering / Technology or equivalent
7 - 9 years of experience in Software Engineering.
Good experience in designing scalable systems.
End to end experience in coding, deployment, managing and monitoring for enterprise solutions.
Expected technical skills:

Python with Flask and Django, NodeJS, Java SpringBoot. Knowledge of two backend languages is mandatory.
React, Angular, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3
Leveraging SQL-Postgres for best performance
Proficient with version control tools such as GitHub
Excellent understanding of messaging queue such as Kafka/Redis/RabbitMQ.
CI/CD, DevOps tools
Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
Strong database skills in Postgres, Snowflake, Azure, SQL server
Cloud infrastructure architecture design (AWS, Azure, GCP) and deployment
OOPs concepts, design patterns, responsive UI and Unit testing frameworks like Mocha, Jest, Jasmine
Knowledge of Bootstrap or Material UI or And Design.
Knowledge of UI component libraries to produce high-quality production apps following a high-fidelity design and a specification.
Track record of designing, developing, and supporting highly scalable, responsive web applications and services.
Understanding of UI integration with REST APIs.
React Native, Mobile app development and Flutter is considered as a plus.

Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to deep dive to get the desired output.
Understanding and desire to work in an Agile fast paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to work effectively with cross functional teams and with senior stakeholders.
Consulting experience will be considered a plus.
Prior experience in developing HLDs and LLDs.
Experience of DevOps implementation across the full stack cycle.
