The Financial Systems team in the FinTech business unit provides technical expertise to the finance department and is responsible for supporting and innovating SAP ERP and S4HANA, Native HANA solutions, SAP BTP, SAP SAC and many other connected external systems like Ivalua, Conga or Blackline. We want to change the way people work with enterprise systems, by building an application platform that supports simplification of business processes and empowers the finance community with better integrations and financial insights.
Role Description
You as a Financial Systems Solution Architect are responsible for the financial core systems supporting the different Booking Brands. This requires balancing the solidity expected of a finance backend with the flexibility to create innovative products for bookers and partners. You bring expert knowledge, experience and strong communication skills. You work closely with the different development teams to make this a reality and are part of the architecture team designing the future of FS.
The Architect will coach engineering teams on best practices, will lead and facilitate architectural reviews, and will be responsible for ensuring the technical solutions and approaches are resilient, scalable and adaptable and that governance, compliance, and resilience are built into solutions.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties
Strategize
- Develop SAP architecture strategy in alignment with the Business goals
- Manages an SAP architecture governance: develops, communicates and ensures adherence to architecture processes, principles, policies and standards for the enterprise
- Review business drivers and strategies, understand the implications to the payment application architecture, and identify/mitigate risks to solutions
- Champion and communicate the application architecture to the business leaders and development teams; associating the implication of the architecture decisions to objectives, drivers and goals.
- Accountable for the implementation of SAP architecture roadmap for designated product tracks
Innovate
- Collect research on the competition in terms of best practices, business processes and procedures
- Identify emerging technologies that can enable the overall business architecture
- Contribute to the development of proof of concepts or prototypes
- Partners with associates to build a comprehensive reference architecture, examine existing frameworks and prepare for the future
Architect
- Define development guidelines and standards to be utilized in SAP development and integration for Finance-Tax and Finance-Record-to-Report domains
- Analyze the current IT ecosystem SAP architecture to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements
- Define transition steps and strategy from the current to the future architecture
- Analyze high-level feasibility of business requirements concerning SAP solutions
- Define the conceptual and detailed architecture for the development of SAP and oversee the evolution of that architecture as the platform is deployed across the entire organization
- Develop and maintain IT ecosystem SAP architecture models, processes and documentation
Deliver
- Identify system requirements for SAP components
- Review requirements across multiple applications and develops models that span applications and domains
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities (processes, people) to improve project delivery and/or development methodologies.
Qualifications & Skills
- 8+ years of relevant working experience designing and architecting SAP Finance solutions
- Knowledge of SAP best practices and Implementation Methodology
- Proven proficiency in SAP Finance Accounting, SAP Controlling, Tax and SAP Record-to-Report
- Good understanding of integration points across SAP Modules
- S/4HANA Implementation experience is desirable
- Experience in finance audits and SOX is preferable
- Strong communicator: able to build a strong network within the organization, trusted adviser for stakeholders
