Senior Project Managers possess a strong project management background. They have excellent communication skills, with demonstrated experience leading medium to large projects, They have solid experience assessing business needs, developing the implementation strategy and leading end-to-end activities for their respective projects

The role is responsible to work with senior stakeholders, as well as across Global/Regional/Site responsibilities. The role works with teams representing multiple sub-departments, and sometimes other departments within Booking.com as well. They are responsible for the success of the projects they lead, including but not limited to: requirements gathering and needs analyses, getting buy-in for concepts from senior-level stakeholders, end to end plan, risks and dependencies identification and management, presentations of findings & requests for support, leading the project team, administration of the project documents & supporting meetings, as well as constant alignment of their initiatives to the goals of Booking.com, the Real Estate & Workspace Services team department, and the teams they work with. They are challenged to learn & adapt to new tools & technologies as a part of being a champion of change. This role supports the high velocity of change and enables an agile development environment where releases are frequency & impact many layers of the organization

This role may also get involved in running a strategy workstream from problem definition to delivering a solution including the implementation strategy or execute change management initiatives and communications plans.

Key Responsibilities

Craft Methodology and Standards

  • Apply structured methodology to and lead project/change management activities.

E2E Project Management

  • Lead independently End-to-end (E2E) high complexity [Project] from scoping to execution, analysis, recommendation and implementation. Drive large business Projects that bring significant value to the business.

Project Initiation and Planning:

  • Drives the project scoping and planning working with different teams and creating associated documentation.
  • Brings clarity to sponsor, teams and stakeholders by defining and documenting program objectives, requirements and success criteria, KPIs, roadmap/E2E planning, risk and dependencies, cost estimates and in general program deliverables.

Project Implementation and Completion

  • Drive project (s) plan execution, ensuring project objectives are met on agreed timelines.
  • Track and report progress.
  • Ensure a project closing and correct handover to Business as usual.

Project Governance

  • Design and implement project governance and delivery structure to ensure efficient delivery, communication and decision making
  • Maintain project management frameworks & templates and follow up if needed with any improvement feedback.

Delivery/Impact

  • Drive the progress and successful delivery of initiatives that bring significant value to the business. They are the driving force that collaborates with multiple teams to ensure that teams deliver significant change to the business covering the full scope, on agreed timelines and budget (where applicable).
  • Apply a data-driven approach by working closely with the REWS data scientist enabling data driven decisions

Stakeholder Management

  • Primary point of contact for the Project(s) related queries. Maintain high-level of engagement among geographically-diverse stakeholders through social channels, email, facilitation & setup of virtual meetings & classroom settings, as well as individual in-person meetings Ability to work and productively interact with different stakeholders up to Director level.

Success Metrics

  • Define and measure the success metrics of the Project(s)/Workstreams in scope.

Facilitator

  • Independently lead workshops to support the delivery of the Project(s).

Key Requirements:

  • Strong Project Management Experience. Preferably having a background in Agile Project Management
  • PMP or Agile Project Management or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • With limited supervision, ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to drive decision making
  • Familiar with change management approaches; good understanding of the change curve and process
  • Communication of the project insights and recommendations across all stakeholders
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships (both within a team and with wider stakeholders. Ability to work effectively and influence up to Senior Managers and DIrector Level
  • Highly organized and structured and make sure all processes run smoothly and in a reliable manner.
  • Be able to lead, motivate, and manage stakeholders and project teams to achieve organizational goals. They also should be able to influence and steer senior management and groups. Challenge assumptions and ability to adapt or generate imaginative and innovative ideas
  • Familiar with the use of data and prepare data driven decisions
  • Flexibility and the ability to function well within ambiguity and in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to solve complex problems with minimal supervision. They are able to break up a complex problem into actionable and easy to understand solutions. They are hands on and drive solutions to problems in partnership with the involved parties.
  • Sr Project Managers make sure the project's outcomes are in line with customer needs and/or expectations
