Key Responsibilities

As a AP Accountant (1 year contract) you will join our Global Accounting Team based in our Singapore office. You will report to the Accounts Payable Team Lead and other departments.

The role involves interaction with various finance operations such as the office, payroll, T&E teams and the head office in Amsterdam and other finance colleagues. Therefore it is essential that you have excellent management and communication skills in English.

  • Complete daily operational tasks in a timely manner to help maintain integrity and reliability of the product/s and/or process/es
  • Review all the invoices post and prepare payments (paperless process)
  • Process MM invoices with exceptions
  • Monitor and clear GR/IR accounts, including communication and user education
  • Give support to stakeholders in regards to invoice payment status queries
  • Process/Review expense claims in a timely manner and in accordance with our travel and expense policy
  • Process cash advance requests and follow up with the ageing
  • Weekly clearing of the bank reconciliation using FEBAN
  • Communicate proactively and clearly with stakeholders on issues to indicate progress and to resolve issues
  • Strictly keep the deadlines for Month End Close procedures, reconciliations, invoice processing and master data maintenance
  • Actively work on aged items by reaching out to our internal and external stakeholders and vendors defined per area (e.g. country, function, entity) and being responsible in all aspects (e.g. data entry, reporting, analysis and closing) and work closely together with the Accountants on clearing the documents and support on the WO process
  • Act as the first point of contact for performing analysis on specific areas of responsibility, regarding financial data such as trends, deviations, exceptions etc.
  • Help to identify process and procedural improvements and take the lead to implement changes and best practices
  • Share proactively with accounting team and document for best practices and ideas
  • Play an active role to support team members with less experience in an identified topic
  • Able to identify, evaluate, propose and/or implement process improvements and innovation
  • Participate in region initiatives and projects and support global accounting or broader projects, in an efficient approach
  • Embrace, being agile and rapidly adapt to change in our ever changing work environment

Years of relevant Job Knowledge.

  • Basic Job Knowledge (1 - 3 years)

Requirements of special knowledge/skills

  • Minimum 3 years of Accounting experience, with strong accounting skills and solid financial background
  • Fluent in English, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proactive self-starter, take ownership for responsibilities with a positive attitude
  • High level of curiosity, self-motivator, resourceful with strong work ethic
  • Demonstrate ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously and drive projects to completion
  • Capable of working independently, as well as working in a team
  • Experience with S/4 Hana is an advantage
  • Advance knowledge of Excel is an advantage
  • Have existing working rights in Singapore
  • This role does not provide relocation assistance
