This is an internship position for our Spring/Summer Rotation, expected to start April 2024 and continue through September 2024 in Santa Monica, CA.

The Designworks Los Angeles Communications intern will support all communication initiatives taking place during their internship, including providing key support to the DW LA Comms lead as the LA studio sets up its partnership with an outside PR agency in 2024. They will play a key support role in setting up processes between DW LA and our PR partner, by working across departments to coordinate the creation of content, setting up content archiving, maintaining the Designworks website, supporting the growth of Designworks social media, and creating and maintaining content calendars. The intern will have the chance to work closely with design teams to integrate visual elements into marketing materials, aligning with the agency's creative identity and assisting in crafting compelling and engaging content for various marketing and communication materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content creation including designing invitation graphics, social media posts, photo editing, photography, and presentation design
  • Collaborate with the Communications Lead to ensure brand consistency in messaging across all channels
  • Establish a content schedule and calendar, monitor engagement, and contribute innovative ideas for content creation
  • Maintain the Designworks website by updating content and uploading new materials as they become available
  • Support the creation of case studies, maintain image quality and appropriate sizing, etc.
  • Provide general administrative support to the marketing and communications team, including organizing files, maintaining databases, and coordinating meetings

The hourly rate for Undergraduate students is $25.30.
The hourly rate for Graduate students is $32.20.

The selected student's academic level will be used to determine the final pay rate. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor or master's degree program at an accredited college or university
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
  • Have completed at least 30 college credit hours at time of application
  • Must attach a copy of college unofficial transcript
  • Ability to work full-time (36.25 hours/week)
  • Basic Adobe creative suite abilities
  • Capable of translating abstract concepts into easy-to-read copy for a variety of formats, including bios, blog posts, project descriptions, presentations and social media posts
  • Experience writing creative copy
  • Strong English language skills, written and verbal
  • A strong grasp of multi-platform marketing and the needs of each platform
  • Willingness to learn new things
