Platform Engineer, Associate

AT BlackRock
BlackRock

Platform Engineer, Associate

Edinburgh, United Kingdom

About this role

The Enterprise Architecture (EA) team is tasked with defining and enforcing architecture governance, strategy, and processes for building on Aladdin. They coordinate architecture engagement across more than 60 domain architects. The EA strategy aligns technology with BlackRock's commercial and strategic goals, focusing on improving operational efficiency, managing risks, and fostering innovation. As an engineer within EA, you will work closely with our Senior Lead Engineer to further integrate the BlackRock Architecture Manager within the Aladdin organization. Additionally, you will help define and build out governance automation tools within a domain-driven design (DDD) framework. This includes developing tools and frameworks for continuous monitoring and rule enforcement, collaborating with domain experts to reflect business logic in automated governance, creating scalable and maintainable automation frameworks, and building systems that log and report compliance with existing policies. Your focus will be on creating robust, scalable, and maintainable automation systems that align with domain-driven design principles while ensuring continuous compliance and security. You will also be responsible for building out reference implementations, i.e., scaffolding in the form of code that Aladdin engineers can pick up and begin shaping their capabilities.
