Team Overview:

Portfolio Management Group (PMG) sits at the heart of active investing at BlackRock. This group unifies best-in-class investment organization and aims at delivering differentiated investment performance through excellence in products and capabilities, operational discipline, and risk management. The group encompasses BlackRock's Fixed Income (Fundamental, Municipals and Financial Institutions, and LDI), Fundamental Equities, Private Credit, Systematic Investments, Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions, and the Private Investors Businesses.

Role Description, Responsibilities & Qualifications:

The team is looking for an experienced and motivated individual in a leadership role who will work closely with global partners and stakeholders to lead our Budapest team and maximize impact and productivity across the PMG teams. This person will also be responsible for leveraging emerging technologies, sharing best practices, and finding ways to challenge the status quo and find innovative approaches to do things differently to achieve greater outcomes at scale. This is a unique opportunity for a resourceful problem-solver to be part of a dynamic team of investment professionals and technologists working closely with the leadership team supported by lead CIOs, product strategists, researchers and other partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with stakeholders to identify scaling challenges and opportunities, utilizing leadership to maximize productivity and engagement. Promote 1BlackRock, 1PMG culture, leveraging best practices and technology, such as Gen Al
  • Immerse yourself in the design and execution of strategic initiatives for long-term success aligned to global priorities. Drive innovation across all pillars increasing productivity
  • Drive pooled hiring and platform-level training plans, such as the New Joiner Guide, while ensuring diversity. Enhance BlackRock's local brand and talent acquisition through external relationships
  • Balance management presence across PMG teams, providing senior connectivity to junior team members and fostering a sense of belonging, community, and identity
  • Inspire and coach mid-level managers to excel in client delivery and execution
  • Provide local management and oversight on capacity planning, optimal seating, mandatory deadlines, and implementing country strategy
  • Ensure consistency across the Budapest PMG team in travel budgets, and mobility opportunities. Influence the YE process including ratings, compensation, promotions appropriately differentiating & rewarding high performers
  • Be a Role model demonstrating BlackRock values and principles

Skills/Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of asset management experience involving portfolio construction, risk measurement and analysis, performance analysis and/or investment research initiatives
  • Robust knowledge of at least one of the major asset classes (fixed income, equities, multi-asset, alternatives etc.) and various investment strategies
  • A keen interest and curiosity in financial markets, economics, current affairs, policy measures and global mega trends
  • A strong propensity to technology and an entrepreneurial eye towards innovation in processes and workflows
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a track record of teamwork and collaboration including a willingness to develop talent within the team with a mentorship approach
  • Strong communication skills in writing and speech; capable of connecting with multiple audiences and adapting style of communication in real time
  • Disciplined organization skills and an ability to form meaningful working partnerships
  • Unparalleled work ethic and professional disposition
  • Post graduate qualification (CFA, MBA) not required but will be an added advantage

Our hybrid work model
