About this role

Business overview

The Wealth team in the Netherlands develops and maintains relationships and drives flows in solutions, Index, Active and Alternative products in the Dutch market, across retail- and private banks, IFAs and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

As the Head of Wealth in the Netherlands, your primary responsibility would be to lead and manage the Wealth team in the Netherlands to develop and maintain relationships with clients and other stakeholders, to achieve revenue targets and growth objectives.

Your job description includes the following:

  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute the sales strategy for Wealth in the Netherlands to achieve revenue targets and growth objectives.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage the Wealth team in the Netherlands, providing guidance, coaching, and support to achieve individual and team sales targets.
  • Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, identifying opportunities for new business and building loyalty among existing clients. Deepen existing senior client relationships (with focus on C-suite). Develop account plans and client activation strategies to proactively manage Accountable Executive engagement tied to clear commercial outcomes.
  • Product Knowledge: Demonstrate a deep understanding of BlackRock's products and solutions, and ensure that the Wealth team is knowledgeable about them as well. Deliver the firm across the breadth of the platform, proactively looking for partnership opportunities where relevant.
  • Market Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activities, and adjust the sales strategy and tactics accordingly. Embed portfolio construction at the heart of client conversations.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reports on sales performance (QBR), market trends, and client feedback, and use this information to refine the sales strategy and tactics. Champion CRM usage across the team to drive data-driven decision making for the business.
  • Collaboration: Facilitate engagement and partnership with Sales and Product Specialists where relevant to meet client objectives. Participate in client events and contribute to local media strategy execution. Work closely with other teams within BlackRock to ensure a coordinated approach to client engagement and business development.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all sales activities comply with relevant regulations and internal policies.

Overall, you would be responsible for driving revenue growth, building strong client relationships, and leading a high-performing sales team.

Key Competencies for Success

  • Experienced at operating and engaging at C-Suite level. Well-connected in Dutch wealth market
  • Comfortable speaking the language of portfolio construction and solutions structuring. Deep market knowledge, particularly on the Dutch wealth market
  • Significant experience in leading individuals and teams to achieve objectives and drive results; inspires and motivates people to the highest levels of performance. Is accessible, engaged and a positive force for change. Provides timely and actionable feedback.
  • Able to have holistic conversations across the BlackRock platform including private markets and technology
  • Thinks critically and strategically; not afraid to challenge the status quo.
  • Deep investment knowledge of BlackRock capabilities and tailored solutions and how that aligns to client needs/investments, demonstrable affinity with private markets is an advantage
  • Strong Sales skills incl. excellent presentation/speaker skills, identification of commercial opportunities, pipeline management, identification and influencing of decision makers.
  • Team player: actively contributes to the success of the broader team in the Netherlands, demonstrating excellent horizontal leadership
  • Experience in working in international firms is an advantage.
