Introduction to Multi Asset Strategies & Solutions Group
The Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) team is the investment group at the heart of BlackRock's portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. MASS draws on the full toolkit of the firm's index, factor, and alpha-seeking investment capabilities to deliver investment outcomes and ground-breaking alpha insights. MASS constructs active asset allocation strategies and whole portfolio solutions across a wide spectrum of commingled funds, separate accounts, model portfolios, and outsourcing solutions in the wealth and institutional channels.
Role Description & Responsibilities
MASS is looking for a motivated individual to join our Pensions Portfolios Solutions team in EMEA. This team designs, implements, and leads on all aspects of portfolio construction and asset allocation to solve our pension client's investment challenges. The team covers Outsourced CIO solutions as well as tailored investment mandates oriented around client outcomes for pension schemes.

Responsibilities
- Focus on Dutch pension scheme clients, (covering both existing Outsourced CIO/fiduciary clients as well as helping drive our sales efforts). Responsibility as lead OCIO for a number of clients.
- Primary interface for an existing book of clients, including collaborating closely with other investment teams and the lead client representatives
- Partnering with pension schemes and their executive offices in an advisory and portfolio construction capacity. Regularly attending client Investment Cie. and Board meetings.
- Performing analyses on a broad range of topics, including asset allocation, portfolio construction, liability driven investing, risk management and implementation best practices
- Engaging with pension scheme trustees / corporates to understand their unique circumstances, investment objectives and constraints and applying portfolio and risk analytics to support investment decisions and portfolio outcomes
- Contribute and drive investment strategy related topics for Dutch Pension Reform, i.e. transition to DC
- Supporting business development efforts through RFP responses and creation of presentation material. Contribute to external communication on relevant topics, e.g. presenting on seminar, webcast, round-table.
- Supporting ad hoc research and contributing to articles and white papers on relevant topics of interest
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years' investment experience with a good understanding of financial markets, and ideally some experience in one or more of the following areas: Pension funds, asset allocation, LDI and derivatives
- CFA and/or CAIA encouraged but not required
- Proven record of academic achievement, work ethic, and leadership
- A genuine inclination for quantitative analysis and the ability to work through sophisticated problems and challenges to provide innovative insights
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex topics to non-technical individuals in writing as well as verbally
- Proficiency in English and Dutch is essential
- Curious self-starter passionate about execution with results-oriented work ethic and professional disposition
- Strong teammate who takes a collaborative and cooperative approach to tasks, but can work independently if necessary
- Organized and detail-oriented, able to prioritize and multi-task quickly efficiently, adapting to new situations in a fast-paced environment
- Being a strong fiduciary by ensuring the highest level of integrity and professionalism in every aspect of performance
