Make Your Mark:

The Finance Director is a seasoned professional who directs a department or function in the analysis, evaluation, and influence of management decisions and leads change to scale our processes and systems while supporting monthly close, monthly forecast, and the annual budget process. Through proficient problem solving, analysis of financial trends, and leading focused initiatives, the Finance Director partners across functions to play a lead role in the execution of financial operations, help partners make strategic and informed business decisions, and prepare executive or board level presentation materials.

You'll Get To:

  • Own and manage business partner engagement to create regular forecasts, annual operating budgets, and long-term strategic operating plans
  • Responsible for the transformation of management reporting and analytics; provide functional leaders with departmental profitability/cost analysis and KPI's as required.
  • Own the creation and management of monthly/quarterly presentations for Executive management, Business Reviews, and the Board of Directors which will include key metrics, leading indicators and updates the performance of the business.
  • Own constructive and effective relationships with executive leadership in the organization to create regular forecasts, annual operating budgets, and long-term strategic operating plans.
  • Ensure timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts.
  • Identify areas of financial risk and opportunity.
  • Manage, mentor, and oversee the existing FP&A team members.
  • Manage ROI business cases and decision rationalization
  • Oversee the build and maintenance of complex, cross-functional analyses, and models to drive financial planning.
  • Oversee the build and maintenance of cash flow forecasting model.
  • Drive unit economics, sensitivity analysis, and business insights through cross-functional partnerships across the organization.
  • Collaborate with International operations to provide financial analysis, management reports and business insights.
  • Manage FP&A systems and processes (including Adaptive Insights) and seek opportunities to add value to business performance.
  • Coordinate with IR, Strategy, and Accounting partners in preparation of cross-functional initiatives, i.e. Board presentations and Investor Relations activities as required
  • Collaborate with peers in Accounting & Finance (including International) and other teams at BlackLine to drive efficiencies.

What You'll Bring:

Years of Experience in Related Field:

  • 8+ years of proven experience in a finance, accounting, consulting, or related business function
  • 5+ years of directly related experience in a similar capacity or area of expertise

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in a business function such as accounting or finance

Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong technical, analytical, communication, and influencing skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Finance system proficiency (ERP, Planning, SaaS-based tools, Analytics and Programming)

Other:

  • Ability to effectively communicate and present information: one on one, small groups, executive management, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning and forecasting, financial accounting concepts, risk and controls standards and business process best practices
  • Candidate must be comfortable working in the Pacific time zone

  • Enjoys building models of business metrics to financial measures
  • Experience with full P&L modeling
  • MBA or advanced business degree
