Bixal seeks a Strategic Communications Director for a nine-year anticipated contract supporting health supply chain and pharmaceutical management for USAID. The Strategic Communications Director will develop and lead the implementation of a comprehensive communications strategy to raise visibility and drive meaningful outcomes for global health. This role will lead a team of communications staff and oversee the creation and management of an external website, social media channels, communications products, and more. You will create foundational ways of working for the contract to ensure high standards of deliverables, including an editing, design, and brand engagement process and quality control review, and will liaise with in-country partners, government agencies, and donor communities to ensure alignment with USAID objectives, partnering with the contract’s Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Director and Knowledge Management Director to set and accomplish contract objectives, and alongside their peers, ensuring a cohesive knowledge-sharing strategy for the contract. This role includes fostering stakeholder engagement, supporting USAID Missions and partners, working seamlessly with a cross-functional team, and managing ad-hoc communications services to meet project needs.

This is a full-time position contingent on contract award by our client, with a defined performance period of up to nine years. Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the implementation of a cohesive and inclusive communications strategy for the contract.
- Lead the strategy and implementation for an external website that serves as the primary resource for external audiences to access information on the health supply chain and pharmaceutical management.
- Oversee content management and a robust content calendar for the external website.
- Maintain and evolve a unified brand voice by leading the development of branding tools, templates, and guidelines for internal and external communications.
- Oversee the growth and strategy of social media accounts for the contract.
- Oversee the development and dissemination of communications materials such as fact sheets, technical reports, media briefs and success stories.
- Set up and manage a system for ad-hoc communications requests.
- Create and manage standard operating procedures to ensure products are edited, designed, 508’d, and meet quality standards before delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience
- Excellent client-management and relationship-building experience.
- Proven expertise in developing and executing comprehensive communications strategies for social media and web platforms.
- Experience managing a cross-functional team, reviewing work, project managing, giving feedback, and ensuring task completion.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing the creation of communications materials including reports, fact sheets, success stories, and media briefs.
- Experience creating briefs for, guiding script creation, and reviewing work related to branding and multi-media production, including video and graphic design.
- Experience creating foundational working methods for a contract, including developing communication templates and standard operating procedures.
- Experience leading strategies for web platforms and content management systems.
- Advanced knowledge of writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with experience engaging diverse stakeholders, including donors, implementing partners, and the public.
