(Sr) Manager Market Access & Health Policy
About This Role:
The role of the (Sr) Manager, Market Access & Health Policy will play a pivotal role in ensuring our innovative treatments reach the patients who need them, which means:
- Ensuring that therapies within the Biogen portfolio are accessible and reimbursed for patients in Switzerland.
- Analyzing and anticipating changes in the evolving healthcare landscape and deriving strategic measures to influence and adapt to these changes.
This role involves a great deal of cross-functional collaboration across the affiliate and allows you to take on a very broad range of activities. It is key to apply a strategic approach and to establish and maintain an excellent relationship with external stakeholders such as the federal office of public health, health insurance companies, other external partners, and with internal stakeholders. This position is office-based but includes field activities.

What You’ll Do:
- Patient Access for new therapies:
- Leads the compilation of the reimbursement dossiers, developing and implementing pricing strategies and new access models
- Negotiates reimbursement with the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH)
- Leverages discussions with health insurance companies to ensure early access for patients in need
- Develops channel specific pricing strategies (hospital, self-dispensing physicians, pharmacists, managed care organizations)
- Strategic Life Cycle Management:
- Oversees price reviews by the FOPH and label changes
- Provides accurate qualitative and quantitative input into budgeting
- Considers competitors’ impact on business strategy
- Healthcare Environment Monitoring and Shaping:
- Conducts thorough analyses of health policy trends and their potential impacts on the Biogen portfolio
- Co-develops strategies in cross-functional collaboration (with Corporate Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs etc.) to navigate and shape the healthcare environment effectively
- Co-develops health policy positions in cross-functional collaboration, considering strategic alliances
- Stakeholder Management
- Establishes and maintains excellent relationships with relevant external stakeholders, such as the FOPH, health insurance companies, and other external partners through working-groups of trade associations or multi-stakeholder associations, as well as internal stakeholders
Who You Are:
You are a dynamic and strategic individual with the aim to continuously succeed in a complex and evolving landscape. Your strong scientific and analytical skillset allows you to guide and influence strategic decisions while always focusing on long-lasting and reliable relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills:
- University Degree in economics, business, medicine, or a life science related discipline.
- 5-7 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry (preferably in Market Access) or with a payer (health insurance company, federal administration)
- Strong exposure and experiences within the Swiss health care system are mandatory
- Additional Health Policy expertise (knowledge about trends in Swiss HC system, laws & regulations, opportunities & challenges; positions of key stakeholder etc.) is strongly preferred
- Proficiency in German and English
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- University Degree in economics, business, medicine, or a life science related discipline.
- 5-7 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry (preferably in Market Access) or with a payer (health insurance company, federal administration)
- Strong exposure and experiences within the Swiss health care system are mandatory
