You will play a key role in maintaining the BD Tender & Bid Database and developing model responses, incorporating essential topics such as ESG, Sustainability, and Social Value. Working closely with internal and external partners, you will ensure compliance, process improvement, and the effective management of all tender and bid-related activities. This leadership position includes people management responsibilities, overseeing a small team to drive success and innovation. The role offers flexibility with a hybrid working model, allowing you to work from home and spend 3 days a week in our modern Winnersh office.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and develop the Tender & Bid Specialists team, ensuring their growth and performance.
  • Manage end-to-end tender and bid processes, ensuring compliance with BD standards, processes, and applicable laws.
  • Monitor the BD Tender & Bid Database, maintaining and enhancing model answers for tender submissions.
  • Drive initiatives in ESG, Sustainability, and Social Value across tender submissions.
  • Monitor performance metrics, providing detailed reports on tender success and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify and address process inefficiencies, championing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Actively manage the tender and bid process for specific submissions, coordinating all activities and ensuring alignment among collaborators.

About you:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally in a science based or economics/business studies related field.
  • You have over 5 years of experience in tender and bid management or a similar commercial role, ideally within healthcare, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong experience in managing tender processes, writing bids, and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • You are proficient in key MS Office applications.
  • You excel at managing relationships with various groups, ensuring their engagement and collaboration to achieve successful results.
  • Knowledgeable in commercial contracts, public procurement law, and tender-related technologies such as TenderEyes or SharePoint would be beneficial.
  • Solid understanding of ESG, Sustainability, and Social Value, with the ability to integrate these elements into bids as a plus.
