Job Description Summary
Based in Fraga, Spain, this position is responsible for providing a highly professional level of generalist HR support in the plant. The HRBP will report into the HR manager and will work closely with our HR Shared Service Centre (ASC), other Manufacturing HR Business Partners and our Centre of Excellence (CoE) to ensure a great associate and managers' experience.
The purpose of this role is to partner the relevant management teams within the plant organization to develop and implement predominantly medium to long-term people solutions aligned to the business strategy. The role also involves assisting with more complex or sensitive day to day people issues. The HR Business Partner acts as a point of contact within the business for all people related issues and is a people champion ensuring that our associates are always high on the business agenda.

Our vision for Manufacturing at BD
As a leading manufacturer and supplier of products that are used daily in healthcare, the Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS) team provide a wide variety of products for injection and infusion therapy, regional anaesthesia and closed medication management. Our Fraga facility is home to approximately 800 associates and specialises in the development and manufacture of plastic, purpose-designed drug delivery systems which are supplied to the pharmaceutical industry for filling and distributed to end-users worldwide.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Acts as the trusted advisor of client leaders to support them in carrying out their business and functional plans.
- Coaching and influencing managers from a people perspective, developing their people management/leadership skills and constructively fostering appropriate behaviors, actions and leadership values.
- Partners across BD with Talent Management and Talent Acquisition teams to align top talent to the highest priorities while ensuring inclusion and diversity outcomes.
- Be the talent advisor, facilitator and champion. Support talent reviews and follow through on development actions to ensure strong succession pipelines for critical roles. Leads the creation and implementation of a clear Talent Management plan for the plant.
- Provides consultative guidance for compensation and facilitate appropriate compensation reviews. Analysed salary data and proposed appropriate adjustments.
- Guides managers for all employee relations and poor performance issues including improvement plans and associate separation strategy.
- Looks for trends and root causes as opportunities to improve organizational/team and associate satisfaction. Tracks claims & charges and measures improvement.
- Identifies retention issues and recommends creative solutions to address them.
- Participates in different local initiatives related to Associate Engagement.
- Partners with relevant groups to ensure consistent HR service delivery
- Analyses metrics, reports and data. Shares relevant information with the leaders. Determines how this information should inspire change and continuous improvement across the business.
- Leads compliance with the local Labour Law and applicable employee Tax related laws.
- Participate in Union relations meetings.
About you
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Law, Human Resources, Psychology, Management, Economics. Advanced degree or equivalent experience in related field or business preferred.
- Advanced level of English is a must
- A minimum of 5 years HR experience required and in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Microsoft Office familiarity, with the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Legal experience highly preferred
- Related work experience in international environment preferred
- Work experience in continuous improvement applied to manufacturing (Kaizen) preferred
