The Director of Operations, ISC Integrator is a critical member of the PI ISC extended leadership team and the PI Platform team. Reporting to the VP Integrated Supply Chain, they will work closely with platform peers in BD Excellence, Sustaining Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, R&D, Finance, HR, Med Affairs, Marketing, and commercial organizations.
Supporting multiple platform teams or businesses, the ISC integrator will be part of the platform leadership team as the single point of contact between the platforms/businesses and PI ISC, where they will be accountable in achieving the business platform strategic goals. They will support PI ISC VPs to ensure alignment and performance of the platform E2E and drive business partnership.
They will be responsible for the strategic deployment and coordination of the ISC strategies including network optimization, Cost-out initiatives, and capital investments within the PI Platform teams and ensure successful execution of the implementation plans.
Responsibilities
- They will represent and lead PI ISC on multiple platform leadership teams/businesses connected to the respective sustaining and change to win teams, supply chain and plants.
- As part of the platform leadership teams, they will coordinate with the other functions the inputs from the platforms with special focus on business needs/strategy/capacity and demand, sourcing strategy in partnership with procurement, manufacturing strategy, make vs buy, supply chain and network strategy (linked to S&OP process), regional requirements, driving plant performance and resources.
- They will develop ISC objectives aligned with business/platform strategy and formulate operations plans to meet these objectives. Provide analysis, alternative evaluations and define recommendations to achieve results.
- Single point of contact in the platforms accountable for the E2E execution, ensuring functions and plant performance achieve platform goals.
- Address key operations issues that have major cost, quality, supply, revenue, asset utilization and/or strategic impacts. Acts globally working across mfg. sites. Advocate for the plants.
- Supports the PI VPs in strategy development. Builds alignment between the PI strategy leader and platform business leadership. Support capacity and architectural/network programs. Proactively communicates across these organizations while taking an ownership role in driving the strategy.
- Owns the change to win (CTW) process for the platforms and responsible in driving site execution and deliver platform cost to win savings. Facilitate business and plant teams to develop 3-year plans and ensure plant budgets align with CTW plans.
- Align ISC strategies with the worldwide platform teams, supply chain organization, and regional management in assessing capacity needs, developing capacity, sourcing, and supply plans and in developing manufacturing capacity strategies. They work with the capacity/network teams to make location recommendations considering network types based on plant purpose.
- Develop and initiate CB-2 capital requests for capacity expansions and manufacture of line extensions and new products. Work with plants, R&D, finance, supply planners, marketing, and platform leaders in the development and approval of CB-2's recommending capital expenditures and their financial justification. Provides analysis and narrative outlining project objectives, scope, and timing. Provides capital planning information and monitors capital spending to ensure compliance to targets and forecast.
- Provide leadership and coordination to get plant priorities approved, resourced, and implemented. Meet with marketing, R&D, Regulatory, QA and others to ensure plant programs are aligned with market needs and get required support to complete implementation.
- Maintains a strong communication pathway with the ISC VPs, collaborates with plant managers, GIE, R&D and others to develop operations plans for production startup of new products and line extensions including the selection of equipment and methods.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical field, MBA desirable.
- Minimum 10 years manufacturing experience / leadership experience as Plant Manager, Business Unit Manager, Engineering Manager, or Program Manager for large projects minimum 3-5 years in medical device industry.
- Operational excellence, quality, regulatory, business acumen, and finance advanced knowledge in cost accounting and capital management. Knowledgeable in ERPs and production systems environment.
- Strong technical expertise in project management and operations management with strong knowledge in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma (GB/BB certification preferred).
- Communication skills with all levels of the organization
