The primary role of the Combination Product Test Engineer is the timely and accurate execution of testing as scoped within individual projects and per client requirements. This includes but is not limited to; sample receipt, prep, storage, and shipping, as well as protocol and report generation, data review and summary. This role utilizes standard and custom laboratory equipment.

Job Summary
The role of Test Engineer is to plan, execute test procedures for new products and support existing product lines, including project management for testing activities and reporting results in compliance with cGMPs and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, executes test procedures, analyzes data and prepares reports on medical devices/components according to departmental policies and procedures; conducts tests per ISTA protocols.
  • Assists in development and validation of new methods, processes or equipment.
  • Applies fundamental scientific principles to develop test methods and procedures.
  • Utilizes laboratory information systems (LIS) and other computer programs as required.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on instruments used in testing.
  • Maintains adequate inventory levels of consumable parts and supplies for assigned area.
  • Coordinates activities between departments and outside vendors as necessary.
  • Reviews test requests and determines priority based upon customer needs and business priorities.
  • Ensures timely completion of all work assignments and adherence to established procedures.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, in Science or Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum three years relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience in design control process and change control process.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas through written and verbal means.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications.
